As promised to show Dennis999. I have just taken this photo tonight. You and Mrs muflotex must have been pretty spot on with your suggestion as Monarda didyma. Our temperatures are at the moment:Highest temp:29.9°c. Lowest temp:11.8°c So we have nice warm days and cool nights here. Thanks for your interest in this flower. We have just started our Autumn season here in Australia

Stunning flower Kerry - I just looked it all up on Google and found it is strangely related to the Bergamot flower. But this one isn't in the Earl Grey tea. That of course belongs to the Orange Bergamot. I love Early Grey and Lady Grey tea. Also partial to Rooibos, which I drink all the time now! Love Chris

yes Chris, I love the Earl Grey but my favourite is Lady Grey.
I will pass on trying to make tea with the leaves, my husband said he never knows what next I will pick and eat out of the garden, even if I am not sure what it is, well I try to use discernment more often that not now I am older...(than I was lots of years ago" hehehe.....thank you.

Earl Grey...............................yuk!!!! You need a mug of proper English builders tea inside you. Puts hair on your chest! To make: Use strong tea leaves and bring to the boil in the teapot (this does not work in a china teapot); poor milk (and sugar) into mug, as required; poor tea into mug and stir vigorously; drink tea whilst straining the tea leaves with your teeth (you may use a tea-strainer if you haven't got any teeth).

I'll play safe and suggest that to my better half.

Thanks for the extra picture. Definitely the Monarda didyma. Yes, a beautiful flower and, I think, lovely foliage.

This is gorgeous! Wish I could grow such pretties but if they come to my house...they pick up their roots and run because they know I have not one but two black thumbs. :(
Love the color and thanks for sharing.
This image left me in stitches, now I expect to see it digitized...what a hoot. lol

thanks, to think it was just about 6 inches in a small pot when I got it and it survived in it for at least one year before I put it into the ground...oh I did have it in an boot of hubbies for a while, and it first flowered in the book, that was my surprise when I saw the flower...

Oh it is just amazing the fantastic array of flowers in the world. I feel blessed to have this one, but the flowers do not last more than a few days, I even like this flower just before they open up. thanks for commenting Carolyn.
