Months ago I managed to get some grease spots on a navy blue T shirt. I tried everything - but nothing worked. Some while ago I read on Cute about using hairspray on grease stains. I tried this yesterday and the marks have all gone.

You see - Cute is wonderful for everything. Hugs Sarah.

I have used hairspray many times. You get help in the strangest places!

My other two standbys for grease are Dawn dish detergent and good old Dollar Store degreaser. (Learned these two when I had two sons flipping hamburgers for a job. Glad it worked for you. It's somehow similar to dry cleaning fluid - scary to think of as you spray your hair!

The only thing I use hair spray for is laundry. It will also remove ink. When the kids were in school it seemed as though there was always ink on their cloths somewhere. Our son would have ink on his shirt pockets and our daughter would have ink on her pants (Not always accidentally, some were pictures drawn on her jeans). A nice spray of hairspray and into the washing machine. Removed all of the ink every time! Glad this worked for you. Hugs, Barba

"Cuties" are not only creative but they are also very "smart" too!

Sarah, when I had a stain on my shirt that I couldn't get out - I embroidered over it - hehehe, I was so lucky it was in a good spot on the shirt!! Like you idea!! Hugs, Laura*

Thanks, this is really nice to know. I'll usually get the grease stain out with shampo but some of them are to stubborn. Then it leaves me to have to embroider a design over it.

Interesting. I had some greasy spots and I had used a little liquid dish washing solution with good results. I just dabbed it on, rubbed it in, let it sit and washed it with the rest of the clothes.

Sarah.....................if you control your dribbling, you would not get grease spots on your navy blue T shirt!!

Ah, but Dennis I normally use my bib when I am eating!!! Perhaps I need to wear it as well when in dribbling mode......

I learned this little trick a few years ago and have used it many times, but it's been awhile. I'm glad you reminded me of it.

That is good to know, I know alcohol is good for ink stains but didn't know about hair spray and grease.

I sprayed (I only have a pump spray, not aerosol), left for about 10-15 mins and put in the washing machine. I had nothing to loose. I would be a bit nervous on something special but I would certainly use again on knits or cottons.
