Oh Sarah, I am in love with Lemon. As you know we have two parrots. it takes a long time to build trust with them. Sharing food is one way of sharing with them to make friends. I bet she even has words for foods. Josh is looking so much older now! Thanks for sharing this picture!
Thank you Jan - Unfortunately Lemon does not say a word, just squawks a lot!! Joshua's accident certainly made him grow up in double quick time. He is 19 now.
omgosh, I laughed! We also have spoiled animals that think they should share everything with us, esp our cat! Thanks for the smile today :) Flowers to all !!!
How lovely. your family live so far away, and these photos are fantastic.
and keep you close. x
Hugs pam.
That is a lovely picture, Sarah. Thank you for sharing. Lemon is an adorable bird and I am very envious. Many years ago, I used to have a Lesser Sulphur Crested cockatoo who behaved in much the same manner.
Thank you Dennis. Lemon is quit beautiful. Unfortunately she does not like me!!!!
I cannot understand that, Sarah, you being so lovely. Mind you, I do know how strong a bond they develop with their imprinted parents and obviously Lemon somehow knows of your disapproval of sharing breakfast. Naughty grandma, you!
Funny pic Sarah. Have just laughed about your comment that you and Lemon are not the closest friends. When I was a kid my BBF had 2 budgies. Whenever I came into her room one of them flew to my head and scratched my scalp. Although they ensured me that this is a sign of affection I hated it and never evolved a connection to birds...
Good to see Joshua looking so healthy and happy :o)
Greetings, Bettina
Hi Sarah, these Umbrella Cockatoos are much prettier than our Sulphur crested Cockatoos. Lemon is a great name for the bird as they usually have a lemon tinge to their under feathers. Great to see Joshua looking so good. Love Chris
Hi Chris - Lemon looks so beautiful when she is cross and her crest goes up. I don't know if I approve of her sharing Joshua's breakfast!!!! Joshua is so much better. Thank you Chris.
A little "Breakfast at Tiffany's" comes to mind........adorable pic, Sarah!!
Thank you Vicki. Lemon hates me when I visit. I cannot get near her. We have great respect for each other. LOL.
oh how nice, why do they call it an"umbrella" cockatoo, never heard of that. Lemon is lovely...
