Hi Susan! I've been just pouring over all of your posts and I'm totally impressed with your work!! I have a question for you...on all of your embroidery outlet stuffed toys, what interfacing or stabilizer are you using? I just bought Matilda the bear and Walter the bear and the instructions are pretty straight forward, but she doesn't give much detail! Thanks for any help! Kimberly
Not sure how I missed Bunny Bob on his debut but he is super
Hi Susan,
I've been looking at alot of your Embroidery Outlet Softoys & they are just LOVELY!! I purchased a bunch of Gerda's Soft Toys when they were on sale a month or so ago. I've been embroidering for years, but my dilemma...I don't know much about hand sewing. Could you possibly share a quick tutorial on how to attach everything once it's all turned & stuffed? Gerda isn't really specific on HOW to stitch together in her instructions, just to stitch them together and I've tried several times...obviously...unsuccessfully! I so want to bring Matilda to life! Any help you could offer would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
My best advise I guess would be go to YouTube.com. Type - how to sew ladder stitch. There are a lot of good videos there to watch. I always use this method. Quite often I use straight pins to hold body parts in place where I want them, especially noses so they don't get off centered. For the neck, attaching the head to the body I sometimes do 3 rows of stitching. I sew it together then go around again to tighten it up and make it firmer as I stitch. I do not like floppy necks. The shaggier the fabric you use the sloppier you can be with your stitches, The fur will hide your stitches. Cotton and flannel are the most difficult to use and knit fleece is in not too bad. Fleece is nice because it has some stretch to it. I hope this helps you and that you will enjoy making these little creatures as much as I do. Good luck, Susan
He/she is ready for easter. You do such wonderful work on all your critters.
love your fabric, wow he looks great, i need to get some of this material, but where in South Africa, most of the ebay places don't deliver to us, oh such a shame! but i'm still hunting LOL Magda
Adorable! Instruction please.
Not sure what you mean by instruction please.... The ITH design for Bunny Bob can be purchased at Embroidery-Outlet.com Look for it under ITH designs. I use a 5 x 7 hoop. The download comes with full instructions and lots of pictures. Susan
I think you did a wonderful job with him. Is he going in an Easter basket?
Nancy
Probably not. I just get bored/restless and get the desire to make a new little friend every so often. This was a design I had purchased back in December and not stitched out yet. hugs, Susan
He is very likeable. I should be working on Walter. I think I will. Great fabric!
he is perfect! Sweet as can be!!! I have seen this fabric at an Amish community fabric store, it may be called curly minky or something like that? Fabric.com may have it, I'm sure it's readily available most anywhere?
With a pink bow, he should be called Bunny Barb....lol. Another great stitch out Susan. I love the fabric in your sofa as well. Just my style.
Hugs Jerri
Thanks Jerri. You are so correct my bunny Bob does appear to be a little gay. Glad you like my new sofa. I just got it last week. We have been painting the interior walls in our house. They used to be cocoa brown and golden yellow. Aften living here for 10 years I couldn't stand them any longer. The house was so dark all the time. The walls are now Pale Baby Blue and a very Pale Celery Green. So after a great deal of searching I finally found a sofa to match my new walls. Hugs, Susan
