Had a fall yesterday afternoon. Managed to miss my footing when going down the steps into the garden. I flew like a bird missing all four steps. I luckily missed all the concrete and landed on the grass. All I have to show for this incredible feat is a bruised face, bruised shoulder, a bloodied knee and a very stiff neck. How I did not break anything is amazing.

You forgot the bruised ego!!! I found this the most humiliating part of a recent fall when my husband called for an ambulance as I couldn't get up off our driveway and he was unable to help. To add insult to injury one of the ambo's who came was a friend of one of my sons, luckily he made light of the situation by talking of old times while I calmed myself.....Ann
ps......hope you are feeling better and like the colour purple!!!

Oh Sarah don't try to fly. This is for those crazy people at the olympic games with a ski jump in front of them. Arnica is a good idea; I have always Arnica-globule in my bag if Felix hurts itself.
Hope you feel much better soon :o)
Hugs to you, Bettina

You really are lucky! When I took flight from the 4th step up in my son's house, I had a bad break - about an inch or two down from the top on my arm and it did a 360% turn. I was supposed to lose 50 - 70% of the use of that arm, but must be my stubburnness, I got most of the use of it back with a lot of hard work.
So glad you missed the concrete - then it would have been a different story!

So glad to hear you are ok.... A few years ago, I learned that I could not "fly" down the basement stairs.... Scared the heck out of my husband. He thought I broke my leg. Thank goodness it was just a sprained ankle.

Oh! dear Sarah, I'm just seeing this post now and it's 8.45pm Tuesday evening. I hope you had a nice long hot shower to ease the bruising. Not much one can do about the face other than makeup to hide the pretty colours that will come out. Look after your neck as that will most probably take a while to come good. Love Chris

I straight away put ice on my neck and took an anti inflammatory. Took a sleeping pill and had a wonderful nights sleep and as I expected I am a bit sore today.

Toothpaste often works on making the colors go away faster. Take some Valerian Root, Passionflower (Passiflora), and Magnesium Carbonate for the soreness and stiffness.

Ouch! You hit a lot of places. There is a product here in the States called Arnica. It is an herb from Alaska that takes away the black and blue. it comes in liquid, homeopathic and capsule. Take care - gentle hug!

Next fall or car crash or hard braking in a car - As soon as practical, take a really hot, really long shower. It takes a lot of the stiff and hurt out of the trauma to your body, but not the black and blue! I was in a crash one time and had the lines of the seat belt in black, blue and yellow the next day, but no stiffness because of my little hot shower trick. Hope you are beginning to feel better. Did you have time to savor that feeling of flying? I'm a klutz and I garden on a hill, so there's a lot of falling and sliding in my yard!

Oh I know just how you feel. I missed a step and fell backwards and rolled on to my side....no one was home and I wasn't sure if I could get up. Bruised up bad. I laid on my side with a lizard watching me from the wall while he did push ups.
Take it easy glad nothing was broken
