My beautiful daughter brought me gifts, yeah! The afghan is crochet. The pattern is my late MIL's and my daughter is the only one who knows how to do it. I can't crochet any longer and I keep forgetting the first row connect, I need to get with her and write down instructions. What's cool about the afghan is that it is reversible. She also brought the cute Russian Dolls, with the Indian crystal decoration. Thanks for looking.

The manufacturer of the yarn is mostly Lion Brand - Home spun. and Joann's brand - Sensations - Angel Hair. It is a 2 yarn crochet.

Do you know brand of yarn this is? I have to mail order any yarn I get and it's hard to find in nice colors. Red Heart yarn get tiresome to crochet with all the time.

Fuchsia is my favorite color, I love that she gave them to me, as the Olympics are in Russia right now.

Beautiful gifts. I love to crochet, but haven't for a long time. Your gift is an inspiration to start again. Love the colors your daughter choose.

We called her birdie, and it is a basket type pattern. I call it bird's nest.

I think it's a cross hatch stitch, really easy chains & double crochet.

Beautiful afghan, love the colors, too. I also am a big fan of the matroyshka dolls...When we were in Russia, I bought a set there..I have been trying to collect them done in embroidery when I see then...you should be very proud of her!

I am for so many reasons. She came up with her own pattern as soon as she picked up a crochet hook. I have an official Russian Santa set that is tiny and still has 5 dolls.
