Time to go to the hardware store for the materials and build a thread/tool stand. A long time ago I worked for a company that made these. Now it is time to build at least 1 thread stand and 1 tool/supply hanging pegboard thing. I need a plan. I have 57 2 inch and 28 4 inch to work with. Not enough for thread.

This will be interesting. You must post a picture of your finished project.

I'm sorry, I do not have a "plan" for you, but I do have a couple of questions regarding those pegboard thread racks that have been posted here. Perhaps I just need to see and example up close

If you purchase these hanger arms, or the metal kind from the hardware store - do they poke through the back, and what do you do to keep the tips from scratching your walls?

If you use dow rods to make your own thread hangers - do you just cut them straight across and then tilt them when you glue them into the holes, and what type of glue to use

Thanks for sharing answers!

Those are good questions and I have spent time. I would like mine to be like michelles, which I think is tilted and use wood glue in the holes to hold the dowels. I do not think the dowels are tilted to the base I think the base is tilted to the wall. How do you attached it to the wall? also you have to build a frame that holds the pegboard away from the wall about 1/2".
