Wow! I try to be organized ....but alas it never stays that way!! You have done an excellent job! I am envious...
Hugs, Nadyne
Beautiful. you've done a great job. I need to get a storage shed and get the stuff out of my room that doesn't belong to me, so I can get my room as good looking as yours is.

I have one for that as my grown children never seem to have a place at THEIR house. Thanks for looking at my room and it is just that,MY room-lol
WOW...LQQKs like you had fun :) Since you over there showing off...you can now come and do mines, LOL! LOL! LOL! ;D
I'll add you to my travel plans, but it will be after the ones ahead of you, and noah (Carolyn) is first on the list-LOl
You've done a great job! I'm still working on mine. The exploding bomb hit here - still working on ideas to shift and move things to make more room so it all fits neater and I can see it all! So I know how hard you have worked at it. Just wish mine was done! And with as good a result as yours!
You'll get it,just don't give up and let us see when you get through.I worked in mine today, for the first time, since the re-arrange.Made a hooded towel with emb. I didn't know if I would like my machines this close together, but it worked out good today.I hope I like to work, in the new set-up.
Looks great, good storage ideas, I intend borrowing some of them!
Good, I want you to USE any ideas, and it you have some to GIVE, I'll take them.As mentioned before,I thank Patricia 109 for her idea,how-to-fold fabrics.I can always use help.-Toogie
It looks Great! I got a ton of ideas! Could you please tell me the size of those drawers? I have to do this!!!!! Sorry If I'm repeating myself I have never posted here before! LOL Great job!
Well Welcome to Cute,DLKTMC ! ....I'll go measure. The cart, with wheels is 25 1/2 inches tall.In the very center of top, cause it curves there, it's 14 1/2 front to back. From side to side it is 12 1/2.Each cart has three drawers about 11x14 each and they are 7 in deep.I purchased them at Walmart for $11.88 each, if you are in the United States.I am glad you read my post and commented.I hope you will enjoy and develope friendships with the Cuties here, they are an amazing group.-Toogie
Okay, now you can come do mine for me please.
I love how you did the Patterns in the Zip locks I will have to barrow that idea..
Wattsemb.
I've been doing that for years. When I had to rip up a favorite item that was worn out, to make a pattern,I'd put it altogether in Ziplocks.I like my turning stand I hang them on.It's old.
It looks great. My also looks like a bomb exploded in it. Just about when I get it cleaned up, I start another project. I also work full time so I have time for a project or clean but not both. I have a friend that gives me tons of Minky scaps - from squares that I'll sew together to make a quilt top to 1+ yd pieces. Plus I get quite a bit of cotton/home décor fabric left over from items she sells. So more and more gets added into the room and I'm running out of space. :)
That is what I had been doing, during the holidays.Start another project, without putting away the last.It doesn't take long to get out of hand.
Great Job, Toogie!! Don't you wish the magic fairie would come after a day of sewing and put it all back away just like it was before the day of sewing? lol. Looks very organized, Congratulations!!
I just finished embroidering a hooded towel, so I have the mess of that, but I will pick-up before I start something else.Yes, it would be nice if all we had to do was wiggle our nose, like bewitched.-LOL
What an accomplishment!! A job well done. Hugs, Mary
Thanks Mary,I will say I was 'pooped" when I finished. Now sister needs to come so I can clear off the dresser, that won't take long tho.
Congratulations on a wonderful sort, clean, organized sewing/crafting room. I did the clear plastic bins about seven years ago and still have one monster container that isn't clear so one day will update that to clear or use down until it is cleaned out (why don't I believe that lol).
Because like me you l-o-v-e this hobby.-LOL..I still have all my patterns in the copy paper boxes.Even if those were clear, you would still have to go through them.I also have solid color bins, still under table, but labeled and I took photos of the contents.Hey, that might be a good 'tip for the day'.Take photos of the contents and then just look on your pc, to see what's inside.See CymbleneJones, this is something that I just shared, unwittingly I might add-LOL, that someone might can use. Thanks Anita for visiting me-Toogie
what a great transition, looks terrific and I bet you feel liberated, I sure did
It is a good feeling, of self satisfaction. When my daughter came today, she hadn't said anything, but I'm sure she wondered how long before I attacked it.After my illness,I wanted to get emb again for christmas, then xmas was over, then new years family re-union and I was exhausted.I took a photo for myself of the wreckage, so it will remind me, not to let THAT happen again.Except for this year,I think I've done well for almost 50 years of sewing-LOL
Perfection is all I can say. So if you're headed to Canada then the UK well, come to MO next please. hahaha!!! I click on your photos and feel like I'm playing I spy because I spotted your john deere quilt.
Everything looks great I'm so proud of you for your organization and I know you are too. Congratulations for a job well done Toogie!!! I am in awe of your stash, patterns, snaps, grommets. Did you get the tall containers your bolts of fabric in at Walmart too? I am pretty sure your sis will be green with envy of your newly organized room. May God bless you too! Hugs, Sharon
Well when I go to MO, I'll bring my quilt for you to finish, whilst I organize your room.-Deal? ..My tall containers were probally bought there,if they had a walmart back then, they are O-L-D. ...and as far as my sis, she'd probally be happy living in a room this size. She has been living in an RV/camper for a few months now, while her house is being built.
DeaI! lol! I reread your comment about them being Christmas paper bins so will look to see if our store has any leftover in clearance. I have a few things on bolts but not too much but could probably use one bin. I have some upholstery fabric that is too big for the drawers. My room is more of a den with a sofa and tv for the grandkids but I have two decent size closets, one is made for my machines and the other has fabric and mixed content. It has a metal shelf in it and some old pressed wood storage I would like to get rid of. I've enjoyed seeing your room and all the eye candy!
I love your newly organized room...a place any seamstress could relax in. Maybe some day, I'll be brave enough to share photos, too. It took me a long time to simply add a comment. All of you on here seem to be so accomplished and I'm only beginning in machine embroidery...with a little 4x4 frame. Maybe some day, I'll, also, be able to have a bigger machine, and will know enough that I can help someone else.
I'm sure you will.I started 8 years ago with my first machine, a 4x4 Brother from Walmart, stillworking in the photos.I only recently 2013, moved to a gently used 5x7.I have sewn with a regular machine, since I was a young girl, still at home.I've always loved making things.I love crochet, cross stitch, tried but not good at knitting.Sometimes just a tip, like Patricia109 gave me about storing, can help someone. It doesn't always have to be emb and we all , at some point, help others and recieve help from others. That's what we mean when we say we share. Not share designs, that's a no-no, unless you are the digitizer, but share ideas, accomplishments, and unfortunately failures and heartaches. We are a sewing/embroidering family, that just like our real families are not perfect, so don't be scared to comment, the majority ,no hopefully all Cuties care. You don't have to have a bigger machine(altho that would be grand!),I'd say the majority of us doesn't.You just have to have the love of embroidery, and Cute Embroidery is the place to find it.Looking forward to seeing a project from you, don't be afraid.-Toogie
Thank you, Toogie, for the encouragement. And you all do seem to be a family, & it warms my heart. I have been sewing for about 40 years on a regular machine...started out on my grandmother's treadle machine which I own now. And I had done hand embroidery, but always dreamed of an embroidery machine ever since I learned of them several years ago. You all have given me so much knowledge simply by my reading your all's posts. Well, I got busy and found the new Enthusiast software from Embrilliance. Now I can actually stitch-out a split 4x6 design. My first one was the Saucer Snowman from Daffy Down Dilly. I am so happy with the way it turned out and looking forward to stitching many more slightly bigger designs. I will be brave in a day, or two, and post a photo of it. I simply cannot explain how much seeing your newly organized room & your encouraging comment have lifted my spirits. Thank you. Cymblene
All you need now is a bulletin board to post the above pictures on - a gentle reminder of "perfection". Super, super job and I know you're tired, thrilled, relieved, glad, tired, tickled pink! Yaaaay!
Feels good to accomplish ones goals that is for sure. Looks like your ready to turn out some interesting projects.
Toogie, well done! I was going to suggest looking at "Dream Sewing Spaces" a Palmer/Pletsch Publication, but you have it covered..
Was feeling a bit 'tired & old' last night after work, so just browsed through some books from the bookcase that I can now reach and that was one of the books that I pulled out. Sorting the books into some order after I have done a quick read of them.
Hope your sister finds some fabric that she can use. I have given heaps away and received heaps from other sewers. I do like being in a nice community.
Happy Sewing in 2014!! Pat
Oh I am glad you stopped in.I appreciate all your help and believe me when I say,I needed it.It has freed up space, as it doesn't take up as much as it did.I also can get all my cottons, prints, batitse, etc almost within arms reach. My heavier yardage is now in my guest closet in the red bins, folded as you suggested. It will give me more sew/emb time,as well, since I won't have to spend time searching for fabric.Thank you again and I'm glad you like my job!-Toogie
Congratulations on the sort out and tidy up, most impressive. Please how do you keep neatly the small bits of fabric that one keeps incase they are needed? When you have sorted out Noah please could you come to the UK and do my room, it is smaller than yours but needs a helping hand. Thanks
Smaller..oh no! I wonder what my husband would say if I told him I plan to travel this summer, to Canada to noahs, to the UK to you, anywhere else????? As for as the small pcs for applique,I suppose I'll place a sm container, on top of the 2bins, in photo 10.I have the centers out of Averys bibs, where her neck goes. They make a nice size for apps for me or quilt pieces, for my sis. Thanks for visiting with me today.-Toogie
this looks great so neat and easy so see every thing, was going to start mine today but got six grandkids coming for the day so will start tomorrow lol (maybe) linda
You may have a mess like I did, but once you START you know you have to FINISH-lol ... but don't get into it with the grands! We were off Friday and Monday, so had a 4 day week-end.I stayed and did my room and the grands went on a mini vacation, indoor swimming, etc. for 3 days.
Oh my now you can please come and do mine . I have my sewing area neat but where i store my fabric needs to be re -vamped:(:(big job as i got many shelves from floor to ceiling .But i started with using the old fabric for the dogs ,i will continue .Thanks hugs for you and your neat room Carolyn
Congratulations on finishing! It looks great!
Aah, this looks tremendous Toogie. What a lovely dewing room, you sure worked hard to get it in ship shape order! I love how you packed your fabrics, nice and easy to see and take out. With all this spring cleaning going on, I have also been tackling my fabric stash, it's going to take mpre than a day or two to get it done!
It has taken me a few days, as well.I am glad to be through though, and the thought that when I want to make something quick, I can. Some times, I would just want to make a ITH felt coaster.Well, the box my felt was in, was a copy paper box, stacked with other boxes, in the guest closet, etc, etc. Well now you can see, in the 1st photo, all felt is in the two top drawers on the far right. It will be nice to have it all handy. It may take you a while to, but keep at it.If I was close,I'd go help fold fabric for you,now that I am through.
It looks Great! I got a ton of ideas! Could you please tell me the size of those drawers? I have to do this!!!!!
