I made some American Girl doll clothes a few years back and my biggest problem was that I only had a generic "knock off" doll to use for fitting and her body was a different size. My granddaughters were miles away with their real dolls. My waist were smug. I finally went to the American Girl Doll store and popped the price to buy the accessories such as shoes , hats and toys.
