I had hoped the new year would bring us the chance to get caught up financially. A little over a week ago when we had that big storm, Maurice got into an accident on his way home from work. The car was totalled and luckily he escaped with a broken foot. They took him to a hospital over an hour away and I didn't see him for four days. Meanwhile at home, the pipes had frozen so I was without water. After a few days of that my son brought me water from his place in the next town.A friend of his volunteered to go get Maurice and bring him home which was a Godsend as I had no way to get him. He's been here alone for the most part the last few days as I've been babysitting my grandsons at night. I have a week off now to catch up on the laundry and dishes that piled up. We finally got water the day before yesterday. My wonderful daughter-in-law took me grocery shopping yesterday so now we have food in the house. My sister says I'm just getting all the bad stuff for the year now so I can relax the rest of the year. lol I hope everyone else is having a better year so far. It HAS to get better, right?

The weather has been a problem for many people this year. Extreme temperatures have caused repercussions like never before._-heating, plumbing ,flooding to name a few. You certainly did get hit all at once! The rest of the year will be better as your friend says. May the force be with you as my grandson would say and may God be with you during your trials and the year ahead!

OH dear Meri, I feel so bad for you starting the year off like this but my Mum always said "a bad start means a great ending" so we will all hope this is the way of things and there will be much better things in store for you for the remainder of the year.
I love the look of the beautiful snow scenes but I don't envy you the hardships it brings with it.
I do hope your hubby's foot heals well too.
Hugs n blessings,

Many things in life we take for granted, have a way of sneaking up on us at times, and tilter our senses trying to figure how to get through the dire situation! Glad things are smoothing out for you, and I wish only good ones for the rest of the year for you!!
Hugs, Angel

I do hope your year goes a lot better! You could write down your experience and try to sell it to Readers Digest. That way you could make a little money to ease the pain of it all.
Hugs and also prayers for you to have a much better year.

Yes, I'm sure it will Meri. Thankfully your husband will be o.k. after he heals. I'm glad you have got water and food at last too. When times are tough and you can't access even the necessities of life it's the simple things in life which really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? Thank God for good family, friends and neighbours. Love Chris
