Avery's 2nd pair of boots-highlandermom suggested putting fringe down the side of these, so I did.She wore her black ones home from school today and surprised mom.I thought mom was going to cry.She was tickled pink, she was so happy! They really are more the bottom darker color brown. This is the link to the instructions, another Cutie gave us awhile back. This is NOT the size I used for Avery.I will have to check where I got this pattern size and get back to you.

Thanks, she is with the bibs! My daughter and I ran into the head school nurse in town, shopping one day.The nurse remarked how she loved to see what Avery would be wearing next, the hair bows and the bibs to match, sure make a school uniform look a lot better.

Oh my. These are just so cool. I have gotten so use to buying slippers that I forget they can be made. I tend to wear them out so fast. Thank you for the link.

This reminds me again of something someone once said. The woman had her nose up, about things 'home-made', she thought everything was better 'bought'. I told her, I worked at a sewing factory, years ago, for 7 months. I saw what they sent out, what they would 'let go'. And what/who did she think sewed them at the factories, people did, of course. Sometimes, the same people that sewed at home, but most often, not. My SIL worked there for years. She worked different stations, sometimes just putting snaps on all day, but she doesn't know how to use a pattern, or even sew a garment from fabric to finished garment. I like things you make yourself. I do agree there are different 'qualities' of home-made, but if you take pride in what you are sewing, and stay at it, a person can always improve.Hope you make some and you are welcome for the links. There is a freebie emb design link, on her boots in Projects, but you have to scroll down, it wasn't posted with the other two at the top.
