What is it that young people need so much sleep? I want to take my grand-daughter to lunch(pizza, she is 13) and a movie. It is now 11:50 and she is not here yet,(mom is dropping her off).I used to take all of them after school was out, but I have too many now, different ages and they won't fit in my car. Since I only have this girl,Avery's at her dads, and Nora is too young, I thought it would be just us two girls day.Well, the day is half gone for me, even tho she just got up!-LOL

I call it very bad maners. Next time ask her if she can be at your place by a set time, if not cancel the day.

Well,I may agree with you, normally but this was not a planned day. I just decided, spur of the moment, since I had an unexpectedly, free day. Maybe the bad manners was on my part, since I didn't plan ahead, but don't you ever do anything for fun, spontaneously? If not, relax, enjoy and give it a try.

They actually need the extra sleep and some schools were going to start later to accommodate the teen sleep schedule. With mine I noticed when they went to bed/sleep and when they woke on their own and that is how I would send them to bed for school knowing how much they individually needed. When the time changes in the Spring/Fall I would send them by fifteen minutes for three or four days earlier or later so their bodies could adjust. Hope you ended up having a nice Afternoon since the morning was lost. lol

We did have a nice time.I think she enjoyed it as much as me. I know it will probally come a time when it's 'uncool' to go out with Gram,so I'll enjoy while I have this now time.

I have a sixteen year old grandson who could sleep the clock round if left. When I ask why are you still in bed he just says " just chilling" we'll all I can say is if he chills any longer he could end up frozen in time. God save us from lazy little chillers lol.

You have no idea what's coming your way but the best bit is you really love the bones of the little chiller. If he was your SON you'd kick his butt but grandsons are soooo very special.....

It probably is the staying up late. My son at 19 is still messing with his sleep. It is not good to change your sleep schedule. I wish I could sleep now!

I wish I could sleep too! I think it's because my work day I get up at 5 am, so my days off I wake at that time too.

I think because they are on Christmas break, they stay up late on their computers. I know I see mine on Facebook all hours of the night sometimes.
