A Happy New Year for all the Cuties worldwide!

My new year was so different to all those I had in 25 years
caring for the family.
My daughter Marie is in New Zealand and travelling the
Northern Island during the big summer holidays.
Her twin sister Monique and Jérôme (the pilot to be) are visiting Southafrica and spent Christmas and New Year at the beach near Port Elizabeth with Magrietjie (our previous guest daughter) and her family.
My eldest son Patrick is married since August this year (still have to send some pictures) and spent New Year with his wife.
Our son Dominic just returned from Ottawa and spent New Year with friends -
but we were not completely lonesome. We have company of a young girl from Tuscany (from our partner city) and we celebrated with her, my eldest daughter Claudia and our eldest grandson Felix and a friend of ours; our son in law and the two younger grand sons stay in Italy for a week to visit the other grandparents.
We ate Raclette, listened to music and had fun talking
together and at midnight DH and Felix did firework and we watched the other's firework as well.
This was a quiet New Years eve for us (only 6 persons instead of a full house) but I fear we have to get used to it because the children are grown up now.

How do you celebrate New Years eve?

Our daughter asked what we were doing and my husband said sitting up to let the new year in. Later in the evening he decided to go to bed... So at 10.45pm I drove to our daughters. The baby had just fallen asleep. We has a good chat and food to eat then just before midnight my older grandson woke up. Poor soul has a awful cold and cough. Just after midnight the sky exploded with fireworks so we stood outside and watched, then went back inside to see the fireworks in London. Much better to be inside with a cough and cold. After wishing my other daughter and her husband new year greetings on the phone I drove home. As children grow up what has been changes. I enjoyed myself. As I drove home the village was quite full of people out celebrating and firing off the fireworks. Today its rained and rained so I hope it doesnot last too long. Happy new year to you

Thank you - I heard in the radio that so many people went to the London eye already in daytime to watch the fireworks at midnight. You are right, it's better to stay inside watching
A good new Year to you and your family and hope your grandson will be alright again soon

Liebe Maria,
LG Bettina

Oh ja, Dinner for one ist absolutes Muss! "Unsere " Lucia aus Italien war auch total begeistert und wird es mit per
USB-Stick nach Hause nehmen. Wird also wahrscheinlich nächstes Jahr auch in Dicomano zu sehen sein:-) Gutes Neues Jahr für Dich, liebe Bettina, und Deine Familie!!!
