I am still stuck on trying to use my 4d software for digitizing my own designs. What is the easiest way to grab a circle to start with? I see the "mini shapes" but no circle is there. Thanks in advance.

In DesignCreator choose the Drawing tab and the icon marked 1 in the first picture. That opens a menu where you choose 2 the circle/oval, arrow marked 2.
In picture 2 you can see beneath the circle a rectangle with a cross in the middle - that means the figure is drawn by starting in the middle - and you dragg it to the size you want. For a circle you need to depress the Ctrl key until finished, otherwise you get an oval.

I have my software set to Dutch put the icons are the same.
Hope this helps.

So glad you got it figured out with Mops help!! Isn't it grand to have a place where people can give each other a hand like this?

Are you using the digitising part? In that case you go to the drawing tab and click on the circle icon and draw one. I am working on my ipad at the moment so i can't give a picture now. But i could explain later.

Thanks so much. Your diagrams helped me to visualize it more. I had no idea i had additional options when I selected a tab. Wow...

I have 4D software. When I open 4D extra, there are 4 tabs under the clipboard on the right lower corner. The third is shape. When I am in that tab, there is a dropdown menu of shapes and the circle is in SHAPES 1 on that menu. I click on the circle and then click apply. Then a circle appears on the hoop and is ready to be sized by dragging the corners. Does any of that make sense?

omj thanks a zillion! yes, it makes perfect sense. In that selection area, it is not a perfect circle, so I thought I was missing something. This helps a lot.

Hi, I use Janome software, but when I want a circle or square or rectangle, I click on the icon, and then put my mouse where I want the center, hold down the right mouse button, and it pulls out the circle or square to the size I want as I move the mouse out from the center point. When it's the size I want, I let up the right mouse button, and the shape "sticks". I can still resize it or move it if I want, but the idea is to click it down, then pull it out to be as big as you want. That's Janome, anyway, took me a bit to get that idea, I thought the software would make me a circle, not that I had to pull it out myself. I know there are people here with the Viking software hope some come along to help better, each has it's own tricks. Best of luck, stick with it, digitizing is really such fun and so creative. Hugs, Marji
