I always place the hoop just over the edge of the table, same principle.
What I do have is a piece of MDF that fits the inside of the hoop. Ideal when you want to cut material at the back of your embroidery when doing iTH items. I place the hoop upside down over the MDF and that prevents pushing down on the fabric and stretching or slightly moving it.
I love seeing the tips others share. Thanks for sharing yours.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing with us!
I have had to use what ever was around, usually by quilt cutting board. I have seen on TV hooping donw upside down because of the protrusions.
I use an old cutting board that has an opening for a handle. Works great
I have always used a bought bread board for this purpose. But now with bigger hoops this is a great idea. Shirley
A good idea Jerri. thanks for sharing, hugs
That is a good idea! My hoops are flat -- but if I ever get the other kind I will know what to do thanks. :)
Your welcome Loralye. Really helps to preserve the hoops from damage... I ordered another set just in case, they aren't cheap, so the longer I can make them last the better...
I wish mine were flat also, that was why I came up with this idea. My Pfaff hoops lasted me over 10 years and it was down near the screw area that finally snapped (plastic). Why can't they make them out of metal to last for ever....
If they were metal, we wouldn't have to replace them & they'd lose money! As if they didn't cost enough to start with!! Same reason we can't update or replace parts of our software, like 3D!!
