Well Carolyn you've done it well, like the all other cuties are saying Listen to the Doctors and rest the hand, buuuttt as a person who also has one unusable right arm it is amazing what you will be able to do Left handed, so try not to get to frustrated and remember things like Irons don't bounce..hehe I found out the frustrated way...
I have a sneaking suspicion nothing will keep you down for very long! You're amazing!!
Dear Carolyn, Aha! now I know why you did the embroidered doiley with only one hand. I didn't see this post until now! It's Thursday midday! I hope that you will now listen to you doctor and stop doing your embroidery for at least 4-5 weeks! Have you broken a bone in your arm, or is it further up your arm?
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. I think like a few of the other Cuties, you need to rest Carolyn! You are overdoing it! You could end up with all sorts of other arm/hand/shoulder problems, carpal tunnel surgery, rotator cuff etc. I hope you heal quickly.
thanks its just a wee problem at thee end of my thumb and i could not rest it as i am right handed and its on my right wrist .
But i am trying hugs
You weren't kidding when you said cast it! I imagine this may slow you down a bit, however I am sure you can wrangle something out of your machine! The rest of the time you can listen to your doctor! Lol! I pray your recovery is quick and complete.
I am trying but its hard when your hubby is blind i have done a mans job most of my life .i will make it some just pray ok hugs
OH my!!!!! Been there. Now you will listen. Hugs to you!!!
Oh my just look at you. Now was this the colour of the day. It looks like 'I can reach for it but can I do anything with it" You take care of you ok..love and hugs
Thank-you all your kind words .Your the best Cute people all over the world !!!Hugs Carolyn
Your doctors are determined to get you to mend properly.
Now don't try to outsmart them, it is just as important to be a good patient. If you do you might just heal a little faster.
We can only hope so.
Oh, Carolyn! I'm so sorry. I know that this is going to drive you to madness. You will get really good with your left hand. Prayers for you my friend. Purple POWER!
Oh Dear! is this what it takes to stop you! I bet not .. hope this helps your wrist to heal. Hugs Sally
This is one way for the doctor to be sure you rest like he said to do! I hope you get good with your left hand really quickly!.
we all know you love purple, but I guess not in this way ?? You must feel lost now, or can you manage ?
Somehow I don't think this cast will keep you down. As they say, where there's a will, there's a way. But having this cast on is very inconvenient and bothersome. You'll have to remember not to injure your left wrist as you'll be using it more than what it is accustomed to. Also, I was thinking about how generous and kind you have been helping others and doing sewing and embroidery for them. Now is a good time to call a friend up and ask for a little help around the house or getting ready for the holidays. Perhaps you can put a little tape around the edges that are cutting you. I hate it when something like this happens. It gets in the way of my life.
Well, it's quite the fashion statement!?!?!?!? I do hope you mange to get your projects done for Christmas, in spite of this set-back, poor you.
It's the only way they could make you behave, now try to be good and follow Doctor's advice.
Bev
Oh no!, lovely colour but whatever will you do till then. Lots of best wishes. Suelyn
Ohhhhhh Noooooo!!! You best do as the doctors say - but, I bet you try to do things anyways!!!! Love the purple but feel bad for you! Get better quickly! Loads of hugs, Laura*
Now don't do like my daughter when she was 6. Dr did her cast like yours and she kept trying to pull her shoes on, etc. and she had the cast around her thumb and between, all soft. So don't TRY to do things you aren't suppose to do or he will put another one to the fingertips! Take care Carolyn, you are in my prayers-Toogie
i tried that already and slipped off had wee cuts on left hand now this fiberglass is tough!!:9
Oh Carolyn, best wishes for you patience test. If it drives you nuts come to cute an read all the posts. And keep you actions down to heal out. XOX Sue
oh my goodness! hope you are better soon! where there is a will there is a way! had to use needle nose pliers to hold the needle to put a needle in my embroidery machine when I had one similar on my wrist last year; my grandson jumped on our patio swing and it flipped both of us out; chipped the bone. I have decided that grandkids are dangerous. but I love them! I
I hope you heal fully this time. Try to let the thumb rest...I know you are going to try to do all you usually do anyway. I am sure that is why you have a plaster cast instead of a removable arm brace.
Hugs my purple arm friend.
this do not look to good hoop you hand feel better soon nice color .Maria
Sorry to see you have a "boo boo"...but such a pretty "boo boo" it is! It may slow you down a bit...feel better!
Oh what a fiasco to happen right before the holidays. I do hope this helps your wrist and that you will have no further problems with it once this is off. In the meantime, try and get plenty of rest for it. Hope you get rid of it quickly.
Take care, try to mind your doctor, and don't overdo it. Hope you heal fast and out of it soon!
Oh no, that is what happens when you push it to the limit (ask me how I know lol), whatever are you going to do. Word of advice, I would try and take that lovely ring off your finger temporarily in case of swelling. I left mine on once and it cut off the circulation to my fingers. It was very hard to get off later.
Try not to overwork the other hand so that you don't end up with 2 purple arms lol,
big hug and hang in there my friend,
Michelle
As soon as I saw the purple I knew it was you PQ :) Try and rest it :)
well the color is great, but having a useless arm isn't great at all. Hope it recovers fast enough for you. Try to keep practising with the fingers and I know you learn how to do things with the left hand. I can tell, In 5 years time and I have had plaster 3 times at the left and 2 times at the right arm.
So try to give the arm the rest in needs. and a big hug for you!
That's not good this time of year, however I bet you will still get the job done. Pretty purple color. I would be down for the count since I'm right handed. Hope things get better quickly.
I hope the bandage does the trick ,it is a lovely shade of purple
My heartfelt sympathies. At least you still have the use of the fingers!
O NO. I hope you can use your left hand, poor you.
Hugs Pam.
I bet this will not stop your activities?Greetings Yvonne
Carolyn Noooo i love purple too ,What have you done ? Get better soon :)
Hope this will help settle down the discomfort. So why didn't they put the velcro type support on? It is a pretty shade of purple.
i had that for 6 months but i wasn't very good with it you know what i mean right??
I can't say too much. They put a cast up to my knee for two broken bones in my foot and eleven days later I cut it off after it broke down due to chasing my fifteen month daughter around.
many Sympathyies Carolyn. I hope you can still thread your machine and hoop up!! Otherwise you are gonna go nuts.
Oh no even if it is your favourite colour. I hope you have your Christmas sewing finished....take it easy
Oh no! Take care & heal. Obey that doc!! Hugs to the purple gal!
For some things, purple is no consolation. Speedy healing.
I love that you at lest got the wrap in purple!! You will get through this, my friend!! Just think, it may keep you from having surgery and that would be awesome!
I feel for you, no sewing at this time of year too. What happened ?A large plastic bag which comes up to the elbow secured with a elastic band will keep it dry when you have a shower.
Speaking from experience hand & arm problems are the most inconvenient ones to get because we use our hands & arms nearly all the time.
Oh you poor thing. I am sure that you will need to rest that wrist. What is going to happen to your sewing? Love and hugs. Sarah.
So what is those free four fingers getting into? I want to send you a ton of embroidered flowers to glue on that purple trap. I am praying for a complete healing in that wrist and NO operation.
