Well Carolyn you've done it well, like the all other cuties are saying Listen to the Doctors and rest the hand, buuuttt as a person who also has one unusable right arm it is amazing what you will be able to do Left handed, so try not to get to frustrated and remember things like Irons don't bounce..hehe I found out the frustrated way...

Dear Carolyn, Aha! now I know why you did the embroidered doiley with only one hand. I didn't see this post until now! It's Thursday midday! I hope that you will now listen to you doctor and stop doing your embroidery for at least 4-5 weeks! Have you broken a bone in your arm, or is it further up your arm?

Love and blessings Chris

P.S. I think like a few of the other Cuties, you need to rest Carolyn! You are overdoing it! You could end up with all sorts of other arm/hand/shoulder problems, carpal tunnel surgery, rotator cuff etc. I hope you heal quickly.

You weren't kidding when you said cast it! I imagine this may slow you down a bit, however I am sure you can wrangle something out of your machine! The rest of the time you can listen to your doctor! Lol! I pray your recovery is quick and complete.

Your doctors are determined to get you to mend properly.
Now don't try to outsmart them, it is just as important to be a good patient. If you do you might just heal a little faster.
We can only hope so.

Somehow I don't think this cast will keep you down. As they say, where there's a will, there's a way. But having this cast on is very inconvenient and bothersome. You'll have to remember not to injure your left wrist as you'll be using it more than what it is accustomed to. Also, I was thinking about how generous and kind you have been helping others and doing sewing and embroidery for them. Now is a good time to call a friend up and ask for a little help around the house or getting ready for the holidays. Perhaps you can put a little tape around the edges that are cutting you. I hate it when something like this happens. It gets in the way of my life.

Now don't do like my daughter when she was 6. Dr did her cast like yours and she kept trying to pull her shoes on, etc. and she had the cast around her thumb and between, all soft. So don't TRY to do things you aren't suppose to do or he will put another one to the fingertips! Take care Carolyn, you are in my prayers-Toogie

oh my goodness! hope you are better soon! where there is a will there is a way! had to use needle nose pliers to hold the needle to put a needle in my embroidery machine when I had one similar on my wrist last year; my grandson jumped on our patio swing and it flipped both of us out; chipped the bone. I have decided that grandkids are dangerous. but I love them! I

I hope you heal fully this time. Try to let the thumb rest...I know you are going to try to do all you usually do anyway. I am sure that is why you have a plaster cast instead of a removable arm brace.
Hugs my purple arm friend.

Oh no, that is what happens when you push it to the limit (ask me how I know lol), whatever are you going to do. Word of advice, I would try and take that lovely ring off your finger temporarily in case of swelling. I left mine on once and it cut off the circulation to my fingers. It was very hard to get off later.
Try not to overwork the other hand so that you don't end up with 2 purple arms lol,
big hug and hang in there my friend,
Michelle

well the color is great, but having a useless arm isn't great at all. Hope it recovers fast enough for you. Try to keep practising with the fingers and I know you learn how to do things with the left hand. I can tell, In 5 years time and I have had plaster 3 times at the left and 2 times at the right arm.
So try to give the arm the rest in needs. and a big hug for you!

capoodle by capoodle 12 Nov 2013

I can't say too much. They put a cast up to my knee for two broken bones in my foot and eleven days later I cut it off after it broke down due to chasing my fifteen month daughter around.

I feel for you, no sewing at this time of year too. What happened ?A large plastic bag which comes up to the elbow secured with a elastic band will keep it dry when you have a shower.
Speaking from experience hand & arm problems are the most inconvenient ones to get because we use our hands & arms nearly all the time.
