Keeping you up to date in the world: The next catch phrase of technology is the Internet of Things.

Here is part of a definition that I got from the 2nd link: "The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to automatically transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. IoT has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and the Internet.
The 1st link has some interesting examples.

Thank you! The 2nd link didn't work but I found the 1st one very interesting. I like the idea of the washer emailing or texting me. I'm all for anything that makes life easier. I just wonder if having all these reminders of things will make our memory worse since we wouldn't be using it as much. I use my smartphone to remind me of lots of things and I couldn't live without it.

When your washing machine sends you a text or email to tell you the cycle is done that means your washing machine is part of the Internet of Things : )
