These are my stitched snowman from Dolly GK. I stitched them on white felt. At her suggestion I began stitching from color three, then omitted color four and went on to color five. After I was done stitching the whole snowman I removed the hoop and cut the bobbin thread. Then I placed a separate white felt behind the back and repeated the outline stitch which is the last color stop stitch numbers 557 through 1232

You could make an ornament out of any applique using the same technique of 2 pieces of felt and adding the second piece of felt at the end and redoing the outline stitch. You could add a hangar or eyelet at the top.
