Want a good laugh? I had a emotionally unbalanced (I blame hormones) day yesterday and this happened: (I'm Mom. My husband texted the kids.)

Mom: It's my birthday month (meaning everybody gets to treat me special.)
Dad: Yes, you are going to be 53
Mom: I can't believe I'm 53 (tears start)
Dad: Just kidding, you are going to be 52
Mom: I can't believe I don't know how old I am! (More tears then laugh/crying)

I won't add what the kids said but basically they called me 3G which is the slower old system of the iphone. The new ones are faster and have 4G.

Oh sewmom that is funny. I totally understand. I hated saying 39 because I figured people would not believe me so I said 40. Eventually I didn't know for sure anymore without doing the math. Now at 70 I am proud of the years and hormones have settled. I am only waiting for the time where I will add the 1/2 again. Ha, ha

well the only way i keep track is by the number of Super Bowls...easier for me and if the Cowboys were in it more I would love the added years...lol but seriously 30 bothered me but the rest have been fine. I think that after 3 children,4 Grands I have finally decided that it is ok to get older and when you have peace inside the process is easier. Happy Birthday celebrate your youthful age

A quote I saw somewhere...........Life should be measured not by the number of years, but rather by the love shared, the memories made, the joy given and the blessings received.

LOL Don't feel bad! Those hormones really cause hilarity or confusion sometimes. At least that's what I blame it on. I'm 54 and my husband is the same age. He told someone that we're 62!!!! I could have swatted him! How could he add so many years! LOL He was 36 from the time he was 24 until he was 38. He seriously makes mistakes like this and he doesn't have hormones to blame! :)

As 'they'd' say here, You're just a chicken!

At the local rural primary school 150th birthday celebrations yesterday I met up with my daughter-in-law and two grandsons who are students at the school when along came an old acquaintance. I boastfully told her these lovely boys were my grandchildren and she then asked if their mother was my grand-daughter!!!
AT 77 I know I'm old but did I really Look That Old>>>????????????

Then later I met up with my daughter, her daughter and her daughter and there we stood in the middle of the playground, four generations, and I felt mighty proud.... you've got to collect the years to have that great feeling.

Enjoy your birthday month and remember that getting rid of tears from your body makes more room for love.

I just love that you wrote "getting rid of tears from your body makes more room for love." I've never heard that before. Thank you!

Sweet! I'm sure you don't look that old. I can only hope that I will be blessed with 4 generations like you.

Thanks for the story. 30 years seems to be my magic number. I started having trouble remembering how old I was then, but I could always add 30 years to my son's age and get mine. Now that he is 31, I have trouble remembering how old he is, so once again I'm having trouble with my age. I really need a grandchild.

Sometimes those days come when everything the lovely family says is too much :o)
I'm 47 now and still think it is strange that I will be 50 in 3 years. Was so nice when the boyfriend of my daughter yeatserday said that he couldn't believe it.
Think his little joke will get him a deduction in the perfect husband point-system *lol* Better think of some nice things he can do to you to earn them back...
Greetings, Bettina

I think his Perfect Husband Points may have evened out when he made me laugh while I was crying.

Of course they will make me put it in "The Book". I have a book/journal where I write down funny things the kids say which makes for some good entertainment, especially when one of the kids has a new boyfriend or girlfriend!

I must also add this one:
My daughter was filling out an online order and when it said to put her city she wrote, "City".

sewmom by sewmom 03 Nov 2013

I think your daughter's boyfriend is a keeper ; )

I'm with rescuer...3G sounds good to me! I don't worry about my age because I always remember my husband is older than I am...that always makes me younger!

sewmom by sewmom 03 Nov 2013

Yes! Even if it's only by 1 year, he's still older!

ansalu by ansalu 03 Nov 2013

Oh I'm so poor: Mine is 2 years younger (but has less hair than I ;o)

This won't work for me--my hubby is younger. When we had a group of friends together, they teased him about being the oldest there. Silly me piped up, "no, he isn't, I am," boy, did I get teased from there on! The punch line--he's younger by 26 days, but I teasingly tell him to respect his elders. Lol

Awe...there are more important things to think about than how old you are. I haven't really known my age since I turned 30 something. Moms get really busy remembering the more important stuff.
Just remind your children that 3G works in more places than 4G and so it is a lot more reliable. ;)

I like the way you think. I don't think about my age all the time so sometimes I have to do the math to remember.

I have a child that always knows how old I am. I just have to remember where he is. LOL
