I love my neighborhood! The youth do regular service (with adult supervision) and my front porch light has now been changed. I didn't even have to stand on a ladder.

Service tends to make both the giver and the receiver happy. They had fun and I have light.
Big thanks to all those here in this Cute family that also choose to serve others!
Hugs!

I love hearing stories like that. Thank you for posting it. Listening to the news one gets the impression that most is bad but that is not true. So many people that still care. I am glad you live in that kind of neighborhood.

Thank you Angie. The news stories get to me as well. I think that is why it means so much to me to find youth that really care.

Hey, Gang, sometimes all you have to do is ask. My sweet little mother-in-law asked a friend at church If her hubby would be willing to come by after church to replace the batteries in her fire alarm (one time) and after that he called her around the first Sunday of the month to see if she had any "can't climb on ladders or duck under the crawl space errands for him. A great benefit of having friends of ALL ages!

Friends are wonderful blessings from heaven. I am glad your MIL has someone to look out for her. I wish we all had people in our lives willing and able to help.

It is one of many wonderful neighborhoods I have lived in. I am happy there are still parents willing to teach good values to their children.

Oh wow, how fortunate you are to have such a caring neighborhood. So many kids nowadays are too stimulated by TV and electronic games or expect payment for any services rendered. I Miss kids coming around asking about odd jobs....Yippee and congrats to the kids that have kept their humanity in todays world!

The young men were willing to do dishes -- that is sacrifice! lol
It was wonderful watching them work as a team -- piggy back and no ladder.
There is hope for our world!

Sounds like the good old days, when neighbour and community were there to help with no questions asked or "what's in it for me". So glad you now have a light on your porch
Hugs Jerri.
