Hello cute family, I have a question that has nothing to do with broidery or sewing. More inside

Brendaleas, I have fibromyalgia and exercise has helped me tremendously. I have done all kinds including yoga. By all means ask your Dr. if you can do yoga or maybe a body sculpting class ( exercise with weights, but no cardio) After all your many surgeries you don't want to try any thing that would cause injury.

sounds like that was the sciatic nerve u severed. That's one of my husbands problems His was severed at age 10. I would not do any kind oaf exercise that was not ordained by my Dr. or Pt. & that's the R.N. n me speaking too many bad things can happen. I'm so sorry about your pain I see my husband dealing with his everyday & it's hard. *4U

Brenda, check with your local hospitals & health centers. Two of ours here offer "outreach classes" or called something like that. They have a center where they teach different classes, like pregnancy, anorexia help, etc. I have seen both pregnancy yoga and 'elderly' (I *hate* that word) yoga offered. They are certified teachers, and the courses are offered through the hospital's education program, so there is a MD or DO overseeing the thing. They even have classes on herbs, acupuncture, foot reflexology (give that a try, for sure!) all sorts of alternative therapies. Pretty forward-looking for Erie, PA, actually. The classes thru the hospital's program are pretty cheap, too, compared to taking a class from a professional on your own. Good luck! Marji

Not me i play safe with my back i only do physio through the hospital that way if they tell me wrong i have cover. I have scoliosis 5 disks out and am allergic to all medication that deals with pain and antiflamitories. have had one surgery won't touch me now because of allergies. and all the nerves in the lower half of body are blockes or damaged.what ever you do play it safe. We have a group through our community health that runs a program to strengthen the elderly. I did that because it was through the health system.

How do you deal with the pain? I can'nt make it without my pills. Belive me I have tried! I hate taking Meds of any kind. I was always for getting to take them until I started to hunt , then it was to late, and The Dr's keep telling me that the idle is to take the pills before I hurt.! *4u

my first suryery was to remove a disk that broke-up into very small peice , some peice are still in my back, and because I walked around for over six months. it cut big nerve that runs down my right leg. so now I have back and leg pain. all the other surgeries are from having an ANS unit. I have over 100 little wires planted in my back to help with the pain, but still have to take three differant pain pills to make it through the day. But at I'm not in bed like I was a few years ago. And the good Lord, I can now watch my three Grandkids. With the help of my Husband, Dale.

what kind a dic did you have replaced with ,how long ago did it last they say it removes 80% pain but some say it comes back in 2 years

brendaleas by brendaleas 07 Jun 2008

I did not have it replaced! I also had bone spires(spelling). this was over 10 years ago. I did better good, went back to work for three years after the first surgery, then the Dr's told me that I have to go on to disablity. I was sitting at a computor working for 8 hours and not able to get up. Now I can work at the computor for 15-20 mins. at a time. then I have to go sit with my feet up in a recliner chair for a hour or so. This is on a good day, on days that I am hurt so bad , forget the computor! I can not set for more than five mins. at a time.
