When I got home from China, I had the same problem. It would not turn on. I had plugged it in the night before and we had a thunderstorm, and I think a power surge got it. It required a new main board, and was pricey, $160. I was so sad a disappointed, but what do you do? I hope yours is simpler and less expensive.
Got my fingers crossed....don't have any other suggestions to add to other Cuties...keep us posted...will say a little prayer for your machine to come back...
I do not know what to say other than I am really sorry! Hope by the time you are reading this post your machine is running again. Did you check the electric outlet? plug it in a different one just in case is not machine but the electricity? hope everything is fine now.
Well, sweetie, all I can offer is I'm sorry.....I do hope it was minor and you have it all sorted out now. ;)
I went to turn on my Bernina Artista 180 a couple of weeks ago and it failed to turn on. I opened the back and checked the fuses...they were fine. I figure it's the motherboard. No money to fix it...can't even pay my house payment (not sure where I will be living in a few months if I don't find another job full time or at least to make up the hours I have lost at my current job). I'm afraid it may be the same problem for you, you may want to check and see if it has fuses and see if they look OK. Not sure where they are (or if you have them) on that machine. Good luck.
Muffy :)
Oh, doggone it, Sarah!! I am so sorry to hear this......fortunately you have a Bernina dealer you can take it to........You have checked everything that I would have check for....Probably something minor, like something got knocked loose when you moved it........Good luck, my friend!
Did you check the breaker in you electrical panel to make sure it has not popped. Did you try a different electrical outlet on a different circuit? I always put my baby to bed after every use also. I am a little obsessive compulsive and cannot leave her uncovered. LOL Hugs, Barba
Have you had power surges or thunderstorms? I do hope there is a reset button that will bring it back to life.
As it happened over night - the machine was fine last early evening, I am not sure about a power surge. There was certainly no thunder. Also I never leave it plugged in as it is 'put away' after each use in a cupboard. Thank you for trying to help
I cannot help you with the machine but want to assure you this is the perfect place to ask for help.
Gee, I hope it's not the motherboard/motor/engine/computer whatever it's called that runs the machine. I had to have mine replaced, new motor etc. luckily for me it was before it ran out of warranty! Love Chris
are you using a power board , maybe it needs resetting,
Have you checked to make sure the connections are fully plugged into your machine. Turn it off and on again to see if that helps etc. Other than that I can't offer any other help. I hope you can sort it out Sarah. Love Chris
Thank you Chris. I have tried everything. It was going beautifully yesterday. I am waiting for Bernina to come back to me at the moment.
