MORE......A spy was once captured and sentenced to death by a general in the Persian army. Before the execution, the general went through an unusual ritual. He gave the criminal a choice between the firing squad or a big, black door.
This spy was given the same two choices. He deliberated for a long time, then finally decided the rifles would be the instruments of his death. Moments later, he was executed by the firing squad.
The general turned to his aide and said, “They always prefer the known way to the unknown. It is characteristic of people to be afraid of the undefined.”
“General, what is behind the big, black door?” the aide asked.
“Freedom,” the general answered. Behind the black door is a passage that leads outside, but only a few have been brave enough to see what it was behind it.”
Fear is the big, black door that keeps us trapped inside our comfort zones. In order to be free from what imprisons us, we must be brave enough to open the door. ;0
