I get them too. also from all sorts of banks. DO NOTHING. IS A SCAM
Thank you all for your very useful comments. I have written to Paypal and am waiting for a reply. *** 4 all. Sarah.
Sorry But in our case it was true : see link also : https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps...
I get one of these everytime i use paypal, which is not often.
IGNORE IT IS A SCAM! NEVER EVER GO TO A LINK IN AN EMAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS, even from friends and family. Any one's email can be hacked. Open another window and go directly to the site in question with YOUR BOOKMARKED PAGE.
Sarah,
Paypal has always said their emails would not request personal info. Emails that are legit and actually from PayPal will advise you to go to PayPal's homepage to update or make changes to your account. Never put any personal info on an email you receive. It is a shame, but there are so many ways computer savvy criminals have of harvesting/stealing emails to send viruses, or pretend to be from a familiar site you use a lot, to get your personal information.
I have had only good experiences dealing with PayPal. Be careful of suspicious emails. The past several months, I have occasionally gotten emails indicating my friends' email addresses, but when I read the subject line info, I knew it could not be from my friend, and did not open, just deleted!
Hugs, Angel
Sarah, Bettina's advice is correct......we had one similar last year and it was phishing, we talked to paypal via phone and they requested us to send them the email....We didn't click on the email, so we didn't have to change anything on our acct.....
Sarah, we once had this too. You have to fax/ email some documents to Paypal. At that we it was because we bought to frequently and we needed to confirm this. Afterwards no probs any more. I' m sure you can get more info on the pay pal side
My experience with paypal a little over a month ago was that right after using my paypal account, I got a message from paypal that said I had just paid 199.00 for a "pill study". I immediately cancelled my new credit card and changed my password on paypal. But I am STILL fighting paypal to get my money back. They have sent me 6 messages: saying the money has been reimbursed, then the next day I get message saying the senders bank refused. I just turned it all over to the fraud department of american express. What a nightmare! Good luck
I would not click on that link I would call Pay apl direct and ask them. Probably someone trying to get your info. Be careful ! Suzanne
I get them all the time. They go straight in my junk box and I delete them without opening!
I don't trust this either, here are many forms of this "phishing"too, don't click any link that's in the mail. be careful. Hugs, Gerry
Yes that's important: Never click on something in those mails. I forward them to spoof@paypal.com and they can try to catch tose spammers...
DO NOT TRUST THIS! It happened to me last year and I ended up having to cancel my credit card and getting new one and had a hassle getting it straight. It is a scam.
Sarah if you have doubts about that mail please send it to the spoof-adress from Paypal (spoof@paypal.com). Most of the big companies have this kind of adress nowerdays where you can send mails that looks suspicious to you.
Sometimes it is easy to see that it is not the original (like a mailadress with paypall; they asked me to register my credt card but I never had one ;-) but often they are made very clever.
Greetings, Bettina
I get those emails at least once a week. Don't use their link as it is a way to steal your information. Use the direct link that you used to make your account. Make sure the email has addressed you by your name as a good way to tell if it is legitimate.
I have not had this one but I get emails like that from banks I never used. Are you sure it is from Paypal? A dead give-away for me is that their use of Dutch is awful and full of strange mistakes. So I never react and forward the mails to the bank - most have an address dedicated to this sort of emails.
