Deer Oh Deer! Look what wandered into our yard this morning. We knew they were in our region but getting up close and personal to this young deer was just so sweet and fantastic. I got to touch him and he was so soft. We had to unlock the gate to let him go free, not sure if he will find his mother again but gave him the chance. We watched him for about 20mins or so. He was fascinated with one of our cats and chased him a few times. He loved eating my tomatoes off a vine. Didn't eat my flowers, pleased about that. Check out his D_Tail (that's highlighting the target area) Cannot wait to show my GD's the video and photos I took.

A young buck. We have numerous does and fawns crossing our property daily--a path to 'somewhere', and we are inside city limits. Many , many deer in our area--this morning I saw outside my window here at the computer, a tiny fawn feeling frisky. Looked only a few days old. They eat our apples, tear up our little garden patch, and will totally demolish a car if you happen to hit one.

Wow! Kerry what a magnificent animal. I'm so glad that the Deer visits you. I've got some friends who live in Wollongong and they had Deer drop into their garden from time to time down from the mountain range. They now live in a beautiful unit right on the beach front and of course don't see them anymore.

Love Chris

Kerry, he's a beautiful animal. It is certainly good of you to grow tomatoes for him and I'm sure he'll be back for his next snack, or to roust out the cat. ;)

OH, what a wonderful experience! These pictures make me all the more anxious to get home next year to our back yard where there are deer and other wildlife to see. It is so nice of you to grow the yummy tomato plants for him.

He has some small horns that will become antlers so more than likely he is old enough to be on his own. Bucks are usually solitary and he looks healthy. May return for more of you delicious garden. That is a cute face.

We wondered how old he must have been, I would love him to return. Husband thought of ringing the zoo's to see if they wanted him. I just wanted him to be free.

yes Pauline other friends hunt them here also think it was for sport..other friends get them culled off their cattle property so they don't eat all the cattle food..hate the thought of them being killed for sport tho...I just sent these photos through to my daughter so the little girls could see him and they were so glad to see him. They cannot wait to see the video that will be on Saturday...
