Welcome to the Cute Embroidery Community! I know money is tight for all of us, so make sure to check out all of the free designs on this site offered by our fellow Cuties in the Designs by Cuties section. Also, in the Freebies section, on the left of the page, you'll find where Cuties post many many free designs they've found out on the internet, and that resource will be useful to you as well. When you are looking for "famous" designs, like Winnie the Pooh, Disney characters, and characters from movies or TV shows, or any sports team logos, just as an example, these designs are copyrighted by the owners, and are only allowed to be digitized by purchasing a license from the owner. Usually only the large digitizing companies like Dakota can afford to do this, and you'll have to pay for those kinds of designs. It's against the law for anyone to digitize them without permission, so if you find them free or for low cost, they are most likely illegal and you could get into a lot of trouble if you download them. Since you are new to machine embroidery, this copyright issue is something you really need to know about, and respect. Also, in the case that nobody told you, it is also against the law for anyone to give you a design that they didn't digitize. For example, this website puts up a free design every day, and you may download and use it with no problems. You may tell other people about this site, and they may come here to download the free design themselves, no problem. But you may not give a design file to anyone else, and no one else may give you a design, whether it was free or paid for. Only the digitizer can give away her/his designs. If you already know this information, please excuse my repeating it, but so many new embroiderers don't know about these laws I thought it better to be safe and let you know. Often the dealers who sell machines don't bother to educate their customers.

We have a great and enjoyable hobby that gives us all a lot of pleasure, and we welcome you to our group! You'll make a lot of friends, and find a lot of good tips and ideas, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here, and we're glad you're here! Make sure to check out the section "Projects" to see what others are working on, and post a photo of your own projects there. Again, a big Cute Welcome to you!! Hugs, Marji

Hi, and welcome to Cute! I cannot digitize, but we have quite a bit of talent amongst the Cuties. As you browse lots of embroidery sites, you will find many free, and reasonably price designs that will be exactly what you need. Hope your son has a wonderful 3rd birthday! Perhaps someone on Cute can help you soon. I just wanted to welcome you to one of the best groups ever!!
Hugs, Angel

Welcome to this great site. We have a couple of digitisers on here who might be sleeping at the moment. Once they are awake and see this post I'm sure someone will help you out.

I see you are after Winnie the Pooh designs. Unless you have a Brother sewing machine these designs are most probably illegal.

Love and blessings Chris, Newcastle, Australia.

When you can spend about $300 go to Embird. I think it was the best embroidery money I spent, Got the digitizing studio, but still not any good at it. I just don't hae the time to sit and figure it out.Wilcom is useless as far as I'm concerned.

Hello, as you will see, there are lots of designs to be found in this forum.
Designs by Cuties has 477 pages of designs-everything imaginable. Looking under the Freebies tab, there are 1795 pages of links to sites with samples for you to try. Some links might not be working anymore, but with all those pages, there will be many. Take a look, you might find what you need.
