And the sad part is that this fire was avoidable. How can people be so careless? He's an amazing young man to do what he does. I know you are a proud mama. Prayers for safety for all of them concerned and for the families left behind to worry.
Bless his heart! I will send prayers for him, his co-workers and your family! Hugs to you, Laura*
Apparently they do fight fires at night. My son says he worked until 3 am this morning.
Your mother heart is worried knowing your son is surrounded by danger. I am sure his training was extensive and he is well prepared for the job. Tell him thank you from my family and give him a special big hug when he has to go back. We are so grateful for the job he does.
My son in law is a fireman and there are times that one does worry. Good to hear he is on his way home. Good Luck
My sister married one too. But she is much younger so my BIL is around my son's age and just starting out in his field too.
My boy is headed home. He was first truck on the scene and I'm sure he will tell us all about it when he gets home but he worked his 36 hour shift and there are fresh firefighters on the scene. He will go back to his shift there on Friday as usual.
It's 15% contained and they are up to 2,237 fire personnel from 800 yesterday.
Yep that is scary for sure. I do not know if they can fight fires at night. I though they had to wait for sunrise. I pray for rain without lightening!
Good point, I'm not sure how much wildfire suppression they can do at night. I found an article about a new program for helicopter use at night. I'll ask him about it when he comes home but I think they sleep at night as much as they can.

Be proud of him, keeping the rest us safe. My thoughts and love are with you.
a prayer to all Gods to keep them all safe, and a hug and a kiss to make you feel amongst friends
To Be a Firefighter:
"I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a firefighter.
The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one;
But those who know the work which a firefighter has to do believe his is a noble calling.
Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds od daring, even of supreme sacrifice."
Edward F. Crocker
Chief of Department, FDNY, 1899 - 1911.
From one old retired firefighter, please pass on my very best wishes to your son.
Oh, Sewmom........there are so many brave men & women in this world...
God blesses each and every one of them.....I pray your son & his collegues stay safe!
Thank you. I think he's brave too but he's my little boy so when I saw the video of that huge fire I can't help but think of some different adjectives to use : (
Our prayers continue for all in harm's way--the hero firefighters, the home owners, and all Nature's creatures.
Letting you remember..GOD is in controll...sending blessings and prayers for you and your son...
I really hope people pay attention to the evacuations so no one gets hurt.
