Just had a mad panic. Thought my right arm had been cut off. I have been cleaning - dusting and sorting in my office and thought I had done enough so decided to spend some time on the Computer. My Screen did not light up. It is an old screen and I swore thinking I will have to go and buy another. Have wanted a flat screen for ages now but not just yet. Pulled the Monitor out to disconnect it and realised I had turned the monitor off at the back. Moral ---- DON'T Dust and Clean.

I have a notice up in my hallway that tells any one entering that
" Please do not touch the dust formations in this house. I am partaking of a scientific experiment to find out how long it takes dust to reach three inches in hight . Thank you

Lyn I just love this but agree with others that dusting should be left... well at least as long as is possible. Now you are recovered go and get the new flat screen that you would love and each time you dust it remember why you got it. Happy dusting /sewing

Haven't even thought of mopping. That is for another day. One way to wash the Laundry floor is to forget to put the outlet hose where it should be -- go out and do some gardening for an hour and when you come back in to hang out the washing find the water all over the Laundry floor.

I'll fess up, I pay for housecleaning but they have switched off the extension cord to the Internet several times by accident. Boy was I in a tizzy until I figured out what was wrong!

I never realised that there was an On/Off switch at the back of the monitor. Only had this monitor since 2000.

Yep cleaning and dusting is a sure way to mess things up! Lol! I do it as infrequently as possible, however here there is so much of it... it quickly turns to dirt!

I have a 2nd cousin coming in a couple of weeks and I have never met her nor her Husband before -- Hence the dusting as he is going to do some Family research on my Computer.

I would love it but it is not needed. A case of WANT but do not NEED.

I am glad it turned out Ok. Done something similar and told my husband the printer is broken. I felt pretty dumb when he pointed out that it wasn't plugged in.

The risks associated with using a vacuum cleaner...

mi30kaja by mi30kaja 15 Jun 2013

Have done this before as well and again think the cause was dusting and moving the printer. See -- Dusting causes so many problems.
