Was wondering if a cuties could answer a question for me. I've been told or heard whichever, that Organ Titanium sewing needles are better than most. I've been using Schmetz but since I'm getting close to needing some new ones thought I might try something new but don't want to waste my time or money. I've found them for $29 on ebay for 100. Is this a good price?

Just found your message. I like the Organ needles and they are the ones that are recommended for my Babylock serger. I haven't used the Titanium needles but I did read somewhere that they are hard enough to do damage to the bobbin case if there is a mishap while stitching. I am able to break the Schmetz needles just as easily as the Organ needles, always in the same way, e.g. trying to stitch over several very thick, rather tough layers of fabric too quickly and that is why I tried out the Organ needles a few years ago. I'm glad I found them when I did. They work well in all of my machines. I get mine from Allstitch.com, too.
It's interesting reading all the comments and the choice really comes down to what works best for you and your machine.

My machine seems to not like titanium so I stick with the regulars. I use Schmetz - my dealer said they worked well for my machine and I have not had any issues so I am sticking with what works. I think I paid around $45 for the last batch of 100 I purchased (locally on sale at the dealer).

I use Organ needles all the time and love them. I get them by the 100 at AllStitch. They stay sharp and haven't had any break on me.

I have tried both. I prefer Schmetz.
I know that in large bundles the Organ brand is cheaper. I don't know if it is a good deal you have found, but this will bring it ttt so other Cuties who purchase in bulk can help.

maybe since I'm not having a problem I better stick with my schmetz. The old saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'! *giggle*

Titanium needles seem to be really good. A little more expensive but worth it.
My Singer Futura does not like them.
I will stick to the Organ needles as they seem to work best on all my machines.

I really don't know if Organ is any better then Schmetz but I use Organ Titanium and just the regular Organ. The price at ebay for 100 of them is a good price. I usually get mine at Allstitch and I think 100 Titanium was around $50.00. The regular I got on sale for less then $10.00 for 100. I can use the Titanium about 2-3 times longer. I love them and my machine, Horizon 12000 loves them. Some cuties will swear by Schmetz but I think it's just what you and your machine are happy with. Hope this helps you. Hugs..Carol
