Do any of you ever have a Meltdown? I have been busy for so long and now I can't be bothered doing anything. There are lots besides housework that I should and could be doing but just don't feel like it. Think I need a holiday or a good few days sleep.

Sure hope that all is turning around for you. With your season turning into indoor weather maybe decorating with some new lights or décor could help to improve your days....thinking about you and sending prayers.

Thank You but I think your suggestion sounds like too much work. I am OK now. Not sewing at the moment -- Knitting beanies for Charity.

My friend once ask me if I ever just felt like getting in the car and driving and not coming home.....i laughed and said, Of course all the time! You are so not alone even if you don't have a million things to do. Just rest and try not to worry ...if company is coming. Try to meet them for coffee instead of having to clean or feel guilty. Or just say, sorry can't visit now. Or hand them a dust cloth and say glad you could come I've needed some help. LOL and then go lie down....or ask them to bring lunch in..... Smile and sit in your yard and just breath and enjoy the sky, the flowers the weeds the bees or whatever...no guilt no rules. Smile
You are not alone and have lots of cute friends

I was that way a couple weeks ago. I didn't feel like doing anything. No house, or crafts nothing at all. The weather was beautiful here but felt as though I had cabin fever. Thank goodness it only lasted a week or so. Just take a break and enjoy it. Naps are good too. Hugs, Susan

Think this could be one of my problems. My home is very Dark and here in Aust we are heading for winter and it has been raining since last Sat night. I sometimes do suffer with Cabin Fever, but going out tomorrow.

You might have "Spring" fever! I am a piano teacher and sometime during the last 2-3 months of the school year, each of my students will experience a week of NO Practice, so I know to expect it and usually have something fun to do instead before I get them motivated to get back to the bench.

I realise that I don't have any reason to have a meltdown after reading your problems. Always welcome here if you want to get away. Have to take my craft off the bed before you can get into it though.

I call that "Burnout" and yes I go thru that. I keep my granddaughters with the 3 yr old being Mon-Fri, am a farmwife, have housework, garden, yardwork, I have a longarm quilting business, in charge of programs for our quilt guild, 4-H leader of two clubs.....gee, I think I need to start saying no and do something for myself. I find that if I can get motivated enough to do something that is for "me" or something that's been waiting a while I can get back in the groove....good luck.

I realise I should not be complaining after reading what others have to go through. Guess I am just missing my love one (6 Years).

Feel the same way. My housework consists of sweeping the room with glance and not writing the date in the dust. My house protected by a layer of dust.
Hope you feel better soon. Hugs

Mine too. Have to do something though as my Brother and his wife are coming up next Sunday and she is a clean freak.

Dear Lyn,
I love ME time and I don't mean Machine Embroidery (ME) he he! Lyn you have been such a "doer" and sometimes our bodies just need recuperating. I love nothing more than a good beauty therapy day - having your feet pedicured, your hands massaged, or even maybe a gentle aromatherapy massage of your body, it clears the mind and soul as well. As some of the others say maybe vitamins, my mum has a B12 shot every 3 months and she says it does her the world of good. I don't blame you about the housework either, it will always be there, so go for a drive, or a walk or just get out and have a great time at whatever you want to do. A holiday is always good, as long as you don't have to do any cooking, cleaning, etc. etc. And as you say maybe a few good days sleep. Keep your chin up! Life is good. Love and blessings Chris

I'll second that. Well the general principle of the advice. As Chris says, she loves nothing more than a good beauty therapy day (she's sounding more like my wife than my wife). She did once suggest that I accompanied her (my wife........not Chris) but I was a bit put off when the receptionist suggested I come in first for assessment, when they would then provide an 'estimate' for work required!! lol

I understand the sense and feeling of duty or responsibility but sometimes you have to ask yourself the question "Would the world end if I just stopped for a little while and took time out for myself?" I don't know your personal circumstances (and I am not prying) but nothing is as important or indeed more important than your own physical and mental health and well-being. If it's possible to do, then take a short holiday doing what YOU want. Recharge the batteries, following which you can tackle these tasks with renewed venthusiasm.

Yes, I can so feel for you!! Sometimes I can't muster up the energy to do anything that needs to be done. Sometimes I close the doors, watch TV and refuse to answer the phone... so I can just be at peace for a while. R&R ie Rest and Recover.

Kind of like a system overload. Time to shut everything down and unwind. I'm six months away from retiring from a miserable government job. Every day is a system shut down for me. I hate going to work and just wish I could embroider. So I take a few mental health days off every month and it gives me the stamina to move again. Take a bit of time for yourself. No obligations, no bondage to anything.

Halleluiah and amen to that one!!! I've been feeling like running away from home off and on for the past few months!! I call it my "concrete umbrella"....which is what I have hanging over me, and if I let go or lose my grip, then it will all come crashing down and crush me.
I've learned that, no matter what you have going on, take some time to yourself. Lock yourself in the bathroom with your sewing machine or a good book or something and give yourself permission to "be bad" and not do what is expected of you. Or take a nap!! It is for your own mental health, and it is wonderfully exhilarating!! Even 2 hours feels like heaven when you can allow yourself to be your own boss. Hang in there!! Like they told us when our babies were born....it is better to put them down and walk away than it is to do something that will be hurtful. Anything else in life is no different.
Good luck finding your relief. Enjoy every second of it when you do!

We all need to rest and regroup from time to time. It is best if you listen to your body and take the rest you need now or you could end up getting sick.

I think of it more like running out of steam. I'm the one that takes care of everything and everyone. Once in a while I need some "lazytime". If I can one sunday a month I sleep all day or as much as possible and that helps me out. I want to be there for the kiddos, dogs, projects and house so sometimes a break without those things makes me look forward to them again.

I can totally relate--my uncle calls it drop seat and heart trouble, once your drop in the seat you haven't the heart to get up! :)
