Organizing your downloads - Secrets of Embroidery.com, under the free tab across the top, has a download file of a set of folders in which to organize your freebies, for those of you making a mid-year's resolution to do this better!

Thx for posting the info--I've been using this set of folders for YEARS and you won't believe how many add'l folders I've added to it! You can rename or create new ones. So easy to access with main folder right there on your Documents page.

i have been fairly organized from the beginning, and I do everything in batch mode, so all my folders have subfolders in differnt states of processing. I do get rid of most of my excess files, unless I have to change the name of the file. I always like to be able to go back and look so I have my favorites categorized. I am going to look for inspiration now. All my files are first organized by website name.

I did this when I first started downloading designs. My problem was I didn't unzip and delete formats I didn't use, so now I'm in the process of doing that. and while I'm at it, if I find I accidently put a fish in with the angels, I'm moving them at the same time. I found that I was not using the same naming formats and had some duplicates that are showing up now, so they are also getting deleted. My suggestions to everyone, is to unzip as you download a design, and make sure that it gets put in the correct folder. If you do this, you'll be able to locate a design to embroider so much easier.
