A few things come to mind. Our Capitol is beautiful and the whole area around there is lovely. Lots of live music venues such as Antones to visit. And The Broken Spoke dance hall. Have a wonderful visit. Hugs. Nan
The Broken Spoke dance hall sounds like I need to dress up old western style : ) I'll look it up. Thank you.
You can head north and make it to Colorado and then I could show you around! Oh OK ... too busy... I hope you have an excellent trip and by the way what is the DAC?
That's a good question. I misread it to begin with and thought that there was going to be a gathering of Cuties at a Design By Cuties Convention........doh!
DAC is the Design Automation Conference. "The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, electronic design automation (EDA) and embedded systems and software (ESS). "
This is the 50th year of DAC. My husband goes to the conference every year and I join him occasionally. This year I'll spend a day in the conference then wander about for the rest of the time.

I've lived in Texas most of my life but have never been To Austin. Check out the capital, eat some bar b que. Enjoy I know you will find lots to do. Enjoy your visit to the Lone Star State. Google Austin tourist attractions.

Unless it's changed a lot since I last visited, there's lots of lovely casual dining there. I found it an inexpensive town. You should see the lobby of the famous old historic hotel where the senators and congressmen quibble and lobby. The name escapes me, but ask someone on the street in downtown or look around Googling Austin. If you will have a car, there are some neat German settlements in the "Hill Country".
I won't have a car so cab or walking. I think I did see something about the hotel you're talking about. I like historical things.
Altho I would love to meet up with you Sewmom, Amarillo is a little too far if you are going to Austin. Unless of course you are stopping in Amarillo or Lubbock??? I didn't think so! Oh well, butter luck next time. Have a wonderful time. Loves & Hugs, Judy
