Dear Cuties: I need help.

I had a Pfaff 7570 and with this machine I had a free program called Pcat. It was a program that I could open up a file of designs and it would show all the designs and info on each design in the folder. Pcat I think stood for Pfaff catalogue.
Also with my Pfaff, I could combine designs. eg: Yoriko's FSL blank tealight. I could pull up this design and then add a flower or verse in the tealight design, save it as a new design.
I also do a lot of baby birth announement quilts so I would like to choose a font and set up the baby's birth info as a design for the quilt.
I am not looking for a digitizing program, just something simple as I am computer challenged, that I can continue to do as above. I can still do all this on my Pfaff, but would like to eliminate it as I have to keep my old computer with XP only for this purpose.
Can anyone recommend something simple and inexpensive that will do this for me.
I have been given Sew What Pro as a program and wonder if any of you have it and how simple is it?

Ahh I didn't realise you meant for Win Vista/7/8, I only saw XP :) I think PCAT has been around a very, very long time .. 1995? So, no, I doubt you'll get it to run on your new computer without having the Windows XP emulator. However it sounds more to me like you'd be better off with Sew What Pro, since you have it anyway, and you like to manipulate designs. Little bit of a learning curve for you to learn a new program which will pay off in the end :) Or you could just keep your XP computer for this purpose if you're not willing to learn SWP :) Hope this helped more lol xXx

ETA: Forgot to add the link so I'll do that now. You can read about Sew What Pro on their sales page. Probably all the things you like to do with designs are listed :)

Thank you. I am looking into Sew What Pro, but again, not being a computer wiz, I struggle with learning new things. I like knowing what I am doing....lol

If you still want to use PCAT it's still available on the RedMugs site :) xXx

I tried to download it, but it is saying The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running...etc.
Can you tell me if I can view Jef files? I am not a computer wiz.
I do have Pcat that I have had for years, I just thought it might have a newer version to include jef format.

I am sorry, I didn't say thank you for posting the link, I was so excited that you found the program and didn't thank you.
Do you know if you can view Jef designs in it as I am not able to download it. I tried to go to redmugs.com, but it just sent me back to the same download area. I would love a program like this for my new machine.

I am afraid that I cannot help you with this matter being far more challenged than you with computers...........I'm still trying to work out where to load the coal! But hopefully this post may help to bump your enquiry up the chain a bit. I hope that you can get sorted out.

Thank you Dennis: I am so used to how I did things on my Pfaff, learning something else is challenging, when you don't understand the lingo.. Jerri ( I would say Hugs, but don't need your wife hunting me down...lol)
