The United States of America lost a dear friend in the passing of Margaret Thatcher today. I would like to offer sincere sympathy from our country to yours for the loss of your strong and courageous leader. Jan

I have to sadly agree with Sue, any family deserves respect while they lay their loved ones to rest, however they are turning the whole event into a media political circus, bragging over 2000 invites, while we many are suffering severe cutbacks, we are as tax payers to foot this £10 million cost, and that unfortunatly turns the whole event, no matter your personal feelings towards her,
I was a 12 when she came into power, I had virtually no schooling in my 3rd + 4th seniors due to the teachers strikes, several of my family lost their homes due to interest rates causing respossesion by the banks, I would dearly love to see more women in power, but they need to be good !! big hugs from London - Maria xx

She was a special lady for sure. And if you did like her or not, she was a strong person who made history. May she rest in peace now.

I have to agree with Sue over this. She certainly ruffled a few feathers while in power. I believe that she had been ill for some time.

Margaret Thatcher was a bit like Marmite. People either loved her or hated her. On balance, here in the UK, the latter is probably more common.

Hi Sue, what is Marmite? Silly me, another British term or item? I don't know! LOL!

It's a spread like VEGEMITE or PROMITE!
"Made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing. Other similar products include the Australian Vegemite, the Swiss Cenovis and the German Vitam-R." taken from Wikipedia.

In France, the latter is more common too :)

But may she RIP !

That may be the case but to see people dancing in the streets over her death is disgusting.

When I asked google what Marmite was it said it was a baking dish! I just learn so much on Cuties!

I agree wholeheartedly. It was with great sorrow that I heard of her death. Mrs. Thatcher was a woman to look up to and to aspire to be like. Americans admired her leadership.
