Great Photo!!! That plant looks almost spooky.
It reminds me of the brilliant Elephant Ears flowers that just appeared on their thick stems and gave us so much pleasure for a few weeks after I unearthed our front bush garden from six-foot high weeds this year. Now their large, leathery leaves are shooting through while the flowers are withering.
I haven't seen a mushroom or toadstool yet this year, though, although the glorious warm, Autumn sunshine should bring them out soon among the new green pasture plants that are germinating after the recent rain. Our summer brown is tinged with Autumn green - it's such a lovely time of the year in MtGambier. SAus.
How beautiful this is! So glad you could share a picture with us!
Like others on this site, I too am fascinated by the beauty of nature. I had to know what it was so I "googled" orange fungi and clicked images.
The picture that came closest was called "Aseroe Rubra Bomaderry". The common term seems to be "Starfish Fungi". I must say though that of all the pictures I saw, yours seems to be the best. Thanks for sharing. This has been a great start to the week.
I googled Aseroe Rubra Bomaderry & was amazed at the different colour variations there were.I only found it by accident so I don't know how old it was & it didn't have a stem.
I like science fiction shows & you can often see where the designers have been inspired by our strange plant & animal life to create aliens ,when you see photos of plants like this one.Thank you for the info
Thank you fro sharing, it is beautiful but scary at the same time? hope you did not touch it.
Is that really a mushroom? It is really cool and eery at the same time.
Awesome thanks for letting me see this from the other side of the world were we still have 6 feet of snow hugs carolyn
You can have the snow which can look wonderful .This is the first time ever that I am looking forward to winter ,its 31C outside today & I'm sick of being sticky or dripping as soon as I start to move around.
yes I have also taken photos of this type of fungi, it was in a cool moist place that never got much sunshine...I simply love this sort of thing, anything from nature fascinates me no end...creation God's gift to us all.
It is beautiful!. I have never seen a fungi with such brilliant colors before.
Wow. It's almost like the return of "The Day of the Triffids." Beautiful yet quite scary.
wow, it has a beauty of it's own between the dark leaves. Never seen something like this.Thank you for sharing :)
