?If you use paypal, is it free or do you have to pay or just if it's a business?

I use to love paypal but, after many, many years of using it through my credit card I was told by them I had reached my limit. I then had to let them withdraw directly from my bank account or use their credit card.. My credit card continues to be used but, not through paypal. I don't understand their policy but it still stands with them and, their is no way to change it.. My credit card has always been paid off at the end of the month so no one really makes any money on it.

I have never been charged by paypal and then last week I got a spoof paypal e-mail wanting me to click on a link when I did I got transferred to a foreign web site so be very careful that your paypal e-mails have your name on them, very important. When I looked my spoof one said recipients not my name. Someone was trying to extract a large amount of dollars from my uk account. So I stopped the direct debit from my bank and now will just pay within my limit.

I prefer Paypal and pay with them if that option is available. I like the idea that not everyone that I purchase from has my credit card information. I was never charged anything.

Paypal is wonderful for the buyer! There is never any charge, and if you should ever have a problem with a purchase, they stand behind the transaction. I use paypal for tons of my purchases!

I used paypal just a few days ago and there was NO charge. I just looked on their site and it says there is a $l fee if you use your atm card to pay. I have my credit card # listed with them and there has never been a problem. I was out of state last yr and wanted to get a machine I saw on ebay for $1500 and I charged it to paypal and they handled it fine.

As I have mentioned, I was charge the $1.00 for an on line purchase. I don't know what you mean by an ATM card. I have my mastercard set up with them.

I just purchased some needles at Allstitch and see on my account that Paypal has charge $1.00 for professional services. So its no longer a free service. i think its worth the money as they as Bev said "Go to Bat for you" I just wanted to let you all know as this is the first time I have been charged.
Hugs Jerri

jerrib--I purchased on-line yesterday & used paypal. No additional charges for me. Does it matter how they collect? My acct is connected directly to a bank acct. I know if you are selling something privately, you must pay a % fee back to Paypal, but it's worth it to securely collect your monies.

PAYPAL does not charge the buyer/sender except for :-
if you make your payment a gift they reverse the charge,
however they make it clear that you except the charge, also if the seller marks the goods as professional the charge can be reversed..
here in the UK paypal charges 3.4% +20p per transaction, so if you sell for say £10.00 paypal take 0.54p leaving you with £9.46, but you have seller/buyer protection and paypal are very hot on this.
Also transactions are immediate with th excpetion of the eqcheqe which takes aorund 5-7 business days for clearance.
big hugs from London

I made two purchases using Paypal. One was for supplies at Allstitch and the other was for a design, so not sure which one I was charge the $1.00 for, but this is the first time I have been charge.

I'm also a pay pal user. They will go to bat for you if you ever get scammed or have a transaction go bad.
