Hello everybody,

I was wondering about something and hope you can give some tips.
I was wondering, how to get text straight and on the good place when the text wil be bigger or longer than 4x4 or 10x10 cm
Hope some one can give me some good tips, how to :-)

I have an older machine that doesn't have any fancy stuff, but this is what I do. I draw a straight line across the top stabilizer. I print out the design and it shows the center of the design with a +, so then I line up the design on the stabilizer, then poke a hole through the +, I then line up the second part on the same line and poke a hole through the +, so then I know where the centre is of each section. Put the hoop in the machine and line the needle up with the first +, when done, rehoop and line the needle up again with the second +. This has always worked well for me, even if I am doing more than one design on the fabric.

It might help to know what software you have so someone with that version can help you better. I don't have decent software so I figure out how many letters will fit in the hoop of the size I want and align them with the grid and then center. Print out the templates. Line the templates up and mark very carefully. This is like matching a split design up.

Read below you have a Brother 950 but some cuties have additional digitizing software.

Welcome to you Joketje. I wonder if you mean that you must learn how to do "precise positioning". Usually you would sew some of your design, re-hoop, then move the needle until it matches where you need to begin the next bit. When you re-hoop, you must leave a little bit of you previous stitching just inside the hoop, so that you know exactly where to begin. Good luck

When I do this, I draw a line on the fabric where I want the text to be. That way, when I rehoop, I know that I have the line centered and it'll continue to go straight across.

Welcome to Cute!
I think you are talking about splitting a design. There are a few Cuties that know how to help you. There may be some other posts about it too. What machine do you have?

Several Cuties know a lot more about this than I do. Keep checking back. It only takes about 24 to 48 hours (usually) to get an answer here on Cute.

Hi and welcome to Cute. When using text I use my PEdesign softwear to get all the text straight and of the correct length to fit into the frame.

Thank you Asterixsew :-)
But what I mean is when you want it bigger than the frame is, but you want it to look like it is made out of one frame.
I know to make two in PEdesign, but I want to let it look like it is made in one frame.
hope you understand what I mean :)
