Had a good morning yesterday. Took myself off (1 hour away) to Bernina where I sat with the lady who sold me my machine. Was not really a lesson but more a mass of questions I had. The instruction book does not do the machine justice. I really learnt a lot. I then bought threads, which I do not need and more material that I need even less. Why do we do this???

The ability to create is a wonderful gift! We will live happier/longer lives than those who cannot refresh their souls with something as simple as touching the right fabric, buying the right color thread, downloading yet another design, or adding to a stash of fabric. This gift we have to create gives us something to imagine and regardless of the weather -- there is always something to do. Enjoy it!

Glad to see that you purchased a Bernina. I also am a Bernina girl. I love my Berninas. Which baby did you buy?

Thank you for your comment. I am afraid we could only afford the Bernette 340 but I love it.

Sounds like you had a 'educational' time. I was able to spend a couple of hours at the shop I got my PR from and found out bits on working it I didnot know. I have had a long trip to the dentist today but I made sure we stopped on the way back to go to the new fabric shop.Yes I bought some fabric, do I need it,no but it is lovely fabric, just as I am sure what you bought is too. Happy planning what you may make with it

Thank you Caroline. It is great to know that here on Cute we are all the same as far as sewing is concerned.

I think we all belong to the same club. We may not use up every foot of thread, but we do use a lot of colors. And there is always a need for that color or print of fabric for a project. I love seeing the colors when I open a drawer or look on my shelves. So enjoy your machine and use your threads and fabric with joy.

Sarah you make me smile :o)
Same question like: Why do we still buy designs/ collect alphabets although we have more than enough designs for a lifetime? Cause this is our kind of "having fun" ;o)
How much money do men spend for their hobbies (sports, fishing...)? And they are not so productive like us (we make cloths, gifts, deco... Yes, we save money!!!). So enjoy it and pet your new "treasures" *lol*
Greetings, Bettina
PS: Think this wonderful design from emblibrary (one of my all-time favorite dealers ;-) fits also for embroidery...
