I know what you mean about men waging war on each other. It saddens me to see people fight each other. Is there not enough pain and hardship in the world with natural disasters without man adding to it. I do hope some day they wake up and realize it. Keep safe.
Dear darling cows and even the babies there... if the cows are up there surely the family got out ok.....SES is usually on the ball with these sorts of evacuations...all the best to everyone there....
I saw this on the TV,and pondered how the cows got up the steps. My sister lives in Bundaberg she said that she is on high ground and dry, many are homeless and the smell in the town is realy bad. Hugs
REALLY? Was it on telly? Thanks so much for telling me, I'll have to tell my brother.
Mind you, he isn't much in the mood for talking right now, can't say as I blame him as it will take a long time for the land to recover enough for planting crops again.
I must ask him about the cows, maybe they just climbed up there as the water rose, I know they aren't his cows.
hugs n roses, Meg
Love the look on the cows. Bunderburg sure got it bad this time. Did your brother stay with his house or did he have to be helecoptered out like so many up there did. Did you see the little baby get winched up to the helcopter zipped inside the pilots divers bag. Scarey. Hugs Joyce
No, he doesn't live there Joyce, he rents it to a friend who has three kiddies. I don't know how they got out because I think it would have been flooded all around before it reached my brother's house so there wouldn't have been any access.
I guess I'll hear the full story when Bro feels more like talking about it.
Hugs n roses, Meg
I am so glad to see someone thinking ahead and thinking of his animals as important as the property. Your brother is a good guy!
My heart goes out to your brother and all who are suffering, may the water soon go ,for everyones sake.
Hugs Pam.
this is terrible, flooding makes such a mess, the smell, the mold, hopefully it will start to recede and he will be o.k
hugs
Michelle
Your brother is a very smart man. I pray the waters go down quickly. Too many have already died.
These are awful pictures to see. The cows looks thin and wonder how they are getting any feed to them. Humans and animals/wildlife are all being displaced by these terrible rising waters. Praying for everyone in the path of these flooded areas.
Natural disasters are all bad no matter what they are. Glad he is dry and wishing the best for those who are not. Suzanne
My friends are in Gungahlin-sent me this pic saying they were an inch away from house flood :o she was so worried- am not sure how far Bundaberg is from there-
Oh I really feel for anyone who is under any threat from natural disasters, it just seems that we are having so many lately.
I'll look up Gungahlin for you as I don't know either, but Grafton in NSW is also under flood.
Hmmm? The only Gungahlin I could find is in the ACT, which is down south in NSW. Now I'm really curious.
Her parents live in Marroochydore and her inlaws in Caloundra- is that any help???
Yes, the only Gungahlin I know is in the ACT.
My sister lives in Canberra and I have been to Gungahlin a couple of times.
Hoping that your brother and family stay dry. Hugs Sarah
Thanks Sarah. My Brother doesn't live there, he rents it out to a close friend who has several children so I am most concerned for them. I'm hoping they got out of Bundaberg before the flooding reached there.
So glad Meg to see that your brother's house is relatively safe from the floodwaters. Australia surely is copping a lot of unseasonable weather lately. What about yesterday's rain, wasn't it amazing?
Love and blessings Chris.
P.S. I'm up late as I collected Emma's quilt today from the quilter and have been putting the binding on - just going to bed now 12.30pm! Cooper and Ophelie are here tomorrow and Trev said he'd take them out for a couple of hours so I can hand sew the binding down! What a treasure!
The water in Spring creek rose two feet during the afternoon and that was when the tide was going out.
And would you believe, we had stupid teenage boys in their boats with outboard motors speeding up and down the creek causing more damage with the wash from their boats!!!!!!!
Truly, some people have no consideration for others!
