Add me to the searchers list too Sarah.
In the past Australia has been the dumping ground for superseded models of everything, including embroidery machines. We may even find a whole machine, second hand in the local markets and we could strip out the parts you need and send them to you. I'm pretty adept at stripping down most machinery and one can always find repair manuals if one searches hard enough for them.
And of course you realise that the only difference between machines made for one country or another (different power supplies) is usually only condensers and fuses.
By all means follow up on your USA Cuties suggestions first but don't forget the rest of us are here to help you if you don't have success there first.
Hugs and blessings, Meg
Sorry Sarah, totally forgot you are in South Africa. We are such a global community, just can't keep track of everyone any more. Of course it doesn't change anything, other then the last paragraph in my post above. hugs, Meg
Dear Meg, I am lost for words. Thank you for all your effort to write to me. Hope you are feeling better.
Thanks Sarah, I'm feeling great the last few days, haven't felt this good in months. I lost 5kg (nearly 11 lb) from being so ill and I think my stomach shrank as I don't feel hungry any more so I have lost another 4 lb. I have stopped snacking and only put GOOD food in my mouth and smaller servings on my plate. I think it is a positive step to feeling better. :-)))
I'm so happy you got a new machine, what a treasure your hubby is. Hugs and roses, Meg
Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I have put up another post with a picture. *** and hugs for all. Sarah.
WOW
isn't this a great community with all the help you have been offered
Airyfairy - please let us know what machine it is and the problem. My local Bernina dealer claims he can fix any machine. xx
Sarah is it an option you look for the same machine (2nd hand) to use the parts ?
Sarah, so sorry to hear this - I wished I could help you with parts. What Bernia do you have?
Sarah can you give us a list of the parts you need for repair and the model of your machine?
Like the others said: You can search worldwide with your cutie-sisters ;o)
Greetings, Bettina
That's not good news ,hopefully something will turn up for you that is within your budget. I can't imagine going "cold turkey" after 4 years of embroidering. I feel for you. :(
Bev
Is there some way I can help over here in Australia Sarah? Can you let me know the brand of Bernina you have. You never know there may be parts here in Aus.
Love and blessings Chris
what kind of machine there are dealers around here that do not advertise on line maybe I could check and see if they have an old one around for parts, got one for my D1 for $100 thought that was great. so you never know. Still so sorry for the loss of you machine I know I would be so sad to lose mine.
Oh, Sarah, how awful.........something will come through for you, I just know it.........Big hug........Vicki
Oh Sarah how sad. I really feel for you. What is the machine as maybe there might be someone here who knows where you can get what is needed and get it sent to SA
