Well, I did my second show that I took my aprons to sell. The same thing happened that happened the first time. People snatched up the little one yard aprons and I only sold two embroider ones. Finally, I started asking people why they thought this was so. They said that the embroidered ones were too "flirty," too "young," "older gals just want an utility apron." Oh phooey!

The show had free food, free wine, music...and I don't think hardly anyone under 30 was there. So maybe they are right. Now granted the 1yd aprons were made from $13 a yd gorgeous fabric and I made fabric flowers from the leftovers and put less than 8 little beads at the top on them and they were the same price as some of the embroidered ones. But still, I'm having a hard time beliving this.

We did however sell out of our dammit dolls.

You never know what will go and what will not. We did a show this weekend that usually has WAY more attendees than this year. We made our booth and a little but but things we thought for sure would be big sellers did not sell any! Hard to second-guess the public. Glad you were able to sell your other items!

Yep! I never thought people would buy the dammit dolls. When we had just a few left, a man came by and said he'd take them all. Go figure.

Oh well... You can never judge what kind of crowd you will get.Maybe you should put a suggestion box for them to write what they are interested in. Pull one name from the box at the end and give away a prize. This way you will know what people are looking for. Just a suggestion... Suzanne

Most people did not stay around for the auction and the gifts were donated by the artist. The prizes were waaay cool and not cheap too! So now the organizers have to call the people. I know they were interested in aprons, just not ones that the ones that were making everyone laugh.

Craft fairs are so hard to gauge, some places are so different than other, I do agree though that the age factor is major, try placing pies and baked goods on your aprons and see what happens.
