Lots of people have mentioned about backing up your files for embroidery designs so you don't lose them if your computer blows up. If you open up an email account with lots of storage......

I use an external hard drive and I am very happy with it.

I hope we all back up - I am in the processing or organizing all my files, and onto CD's. But, also have a separte drive that everything is backed to. I don't keep designs on my laptop as both hubby and I use it. My e-mail would be so full!

such as hotmail, then you can email all your designs to yourself as you collect them (makes the job easier as you go) then no matter what happens to your computer, you will have them stored away and also accessable where-ever you go. Then, if you need, you download from your email. It works the same as if you order a design and have it emailed to your inbox such as you can opt to do with sites like emblibrary. I always download and also email so I never lose anything from them or anyone else who offers emailing of designs.
