04 October: It's World Animal Day today. Spare a thought for all the beautiful animals that live in less than ideal circumstances.

This may be contentious, but I would include all of the animals farmed for meat.

I agree that big business can not be trusted. It was quite different when there was a relationship between family and their food.

here here!! I am with an organization that helps feral cats get all their shots and neutered or spay. Then if they can be reabilitated they are adopted . The kitten are socialized and go to good homes too. Lots of work but making their lives a lot better one at a time.. Suzanne

I think often of the ocean and how important it is and the horrible things that have been done. It is already a vicious place and now is in even more danger. Small disruptions can cause complete destruction of their habitat. The Gulf of Mexico is the best example I can give of the callous actions of greedy humans. The good news is - the Earth will take care of herself!

And there are far too many animals in bad conditions. Thanks for the reminder.

"Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name." Genesis 2:19
