Nesting can also be caused by the top tension if the thread is not caught properly so when the nesting happens to me I unthread the top thread then rethead, & after I have gone around the tension section I hold the thread at both ends & pull gently both ways then finish threading. Works most times. Best of luck

I have a Quattro and yes it is a touchy machine.. when that happens it is usually caused by the upper tension when threading... but when I can not fix the problem it goes to the shop.. I bought the extended warantey when I got this machine.. since it cost so much to begin with.. mine goes in every 6 months for a clean up and if it gets goofy, even sooner.. I drive 1 hour to the dealer..

Hope this doesn't offend but I was told never ever to use canned air on my machine. This will push tiny bits of dust, lint and thread into places it shouldn't be, then you have to have repairman to get it all out. As for your nesting, are you sure your bobbin is in the right direction and that the needle is smooth? I don't have a Quattro but this can cause a problem on my husqvarna. Hope this helps.....

I have the Quattro, and I have had bobbin case tension problems in the past. My dealer's repair person told me to keep it as clean as I can. My salesperson even told me to put a WEE---teeny tiny drop of oil in the tiny slit where the bobbin thread comes out and goes around into the channel. She said to do this every time I use the machine...the repair person told me to check the threading process too if the tension acted up. Wish I could tell you more:>) Good luck!!

I can't offer any advice for you either but for
asterixsew.... I had the Galaxie 3100D with the same problem. With the help of Ann's fix it page, hubby was able to remove the cutter & sharpen it. Worked fine then. xx
