You deserve a pat on the back... well done Vicki :)
How do you find the time? I'm swamped and I have so little time for life...
I am so happy for your sake that you did well. It is always a worry whether your things will sell and such a boost when it does!!! Well done. Hope the aches and pains will soon be under control again.***
Well done Vicki - so pleased for you. Lots of love Sarah.
Congrats, Vichy! I hope your next shows are successful too. Most people still spend a lot for Christmas presents, fingers crossed it will include embroidered items - seeing all the new Christmas patterns it looks as if digitisers still do, hope potential buyers do too.
Hi Martine...and thank you..it seems that the embroidery loving crowd doesn't come to the crafting scene, in fact out of all the vendors there were only 2 of us with embroidered items...isn't that strange?
Congratulations!
You must give quality knitwear at a good price and its much appreciated! When I knit for long periods my hands hurt but I still do-pain cream, heat treatment and Tylenol!
Hugs
Linda aka Bumblebee
I hear ya, Linda.....I get elbow pain when I knit for long periods....finally got it under control for now...but I have been doing more digitizing than knitting!
Glad to hear from you. What were your knit wear items? Sounds as if the weather was nice.
Weather was perfect...I was selling mostly my sweaters. I start with a pattern and then deviate the heck out of it, so I can never duplicate it and everyone gets a one of a kind.....
Well done Vicki.
hugs
Alice.
Thanks, Alice....can't tell you how many times I wanted a cig...but kept busy knitting & drinking my pop...Sigh!!!
LOL, Sarah.....I am committed and will stay off as I know Alice is too, but man, I sure did want one yesterday after we got all set up to calm me down....
Super for you to have had a good show.
I love my knitting,I do a lot of hand and Machine knitting.
Hugs Bev
Hi Bev...I tried machine knitting & could not get the hang of it, so I sold it. I couldn't even make a scarf with it...LOL!
Congratulations Vicki. Glad to hear you did well. I like to knit but am much faster at crocheting. Alas when I got the sewing emb. machine I do very little of either anymore. Bet I've crocheted enough afghans to go 'round the world and baby things/LOL. It's good to hear of successful sales these days. Around here they want but want it for nothing/Lillian
Lillian, people around here are the same, they act like they are at a flea market and expect to dicker the price with crafters....I am reasonable to begin with and will not budge...we all work for free anyway, we shouldn't have to give the product away as well, right?
Vegging out is good! I've noticed that there has been a lot of interest in knitting lately. Some of the threads are gorgeous, but $$$ too. But I guess it pays to diversify! Glad you had a good day!
You are so right, some of the yarns are ridiculous and I have to stay away from the high end cost, as no one is going to pay for the finished product, but I do really well on line finding bargains on knock off that feel like the high end without the price.....
SUPER! I am very happy for you Vicki & I'll bet that since your machine was in the shop for sew long you were able to knit alot more! nice way to look @ things, Hugs Loralye
You know, not so much, I spent more time designing for the website and I really need to spend more time knitting...that is where I make the $$$...LOL!
could it be it is like the 60s stuff hippy or is that wrong. lotts of old flower power people out there and some younger ones..
glad you did well you should you your stuff is fantastic.
Hugs pam.
You've seen my designs, Pam...I cover the whole gambit.....and still????? Seems like the Christmas show is where I sell the most embroidery work....
Yes I offtern go on your site, and I love them, you are one talented Lady.
Hugs Pam.
Thank you Pam and back at you, I see your items in projects and you rock!!!
CONGRATS, Vicki!! You are so incredibly talented, I can see why folks want to buy your work. Interesting though that the knitted goods sold more quickly than the embroidered items. Everyone I know loves embroidered clothes, linens, etc, and all of us buy them at the store. You're right ... go figure!:) Again, congratulations, my friend!
Hugs
Marion
I get more custom work than what sells at shows.....strange people around here...LOL!
Yay, Vicki! I can't imagine knitting and selling it - it takes me forever to knit! Your work is really unique and I'm sure people fall in love with it!
Some of the pieces are so hard to part with, but I don't go enough "nice Places" to warrant keeping them....LOL!
So glad to hear you had a successful show! I will have to tell my Daughter who crochets afgans. She needs to move to sweaters and learn all the cool knit/crochet stitches! As long as she is stichin something! Lol!
Yes, tell her there is high demand, at least around here. I have people that come looking for my booth, to see what I have new each show....
very happy for you :):)yes older folks love the knitted things as we know thee hours put into these projects but emb. some folks don't have a clue hugs
Thanks, Carolyn...you're right, alot of the public is clueless when it comes to crafting & artistry.....
Glad it went well for you! Do you have another show?
I am so glad it went well! It is a good thing you had a lot to offer. Congrats on a job well done and making it through the day!
I don't know why people don't buy embroidered things more, if you watch in the store people always buy clothes that are embroidered, I always did and still do! That's why hubby bought me my machine.
I know, it is a phenomenon I don't understand.....maybe I should double my prices and charge what the stores charge and people will buy more...LOL!!!
