today we tie a pot full of curd and butter milk at the top of the building around 3rd or 4th floor and then a group of people esp. young form a ladder in round circle and break that pot.

there is competition of breaking the pot putted at the highest in the sky

Actually the lord krishna like to steal the Buttermilk at there childhood.He was know as "Makhan Chor".i m embeed a link in this post which will tel you everything
