Hello Cuties! I was just checking out Embroidery Library, and I found Maple leaves (border) lace. Has anyone attempted making a FSL lace border, and is it a project a 4x4 hoop field can handle? I hate to buy it and find out it was a bad idea. Thanks

I can't wait to see how this project turns out for you.

The border is

3.86"(w) x 1.39"(h)

So as long as that fits within the stitching area of your 4x4 hoop you will be okay.

You may be able to stitch 2 of the borders in you hoop if you can bring in the first one and move it up or down or sideways and then bring in another and do the same thing so there is space between the two and room around both so your embroidery foot doesn't hit the hoop side when stitching.

Make sure to use 2 layer of water soluble stabilizer for stitching the border/s.

For the Maple Leaf Border if you only have the 4x4 hoop you would buy and stitch the samll size.
You can stitch the design out several times and then join the sections by butting the ends together and zig zagging the sections together to make longer sections for a long border. Do this before rinsing out the stabilizer.
Hope this helps you!

Here's the link to the lace border I think you're talking about. It comes in 3 sizes, this is the one for the 4x4 hoop. At Embroidery Library, when you sign up, you put in your machine format and hoop size, so if you accidentally put in a design too big for your hoop in your basket, it will warn you right in the shopping cart. This will fit your hoop, and maybe if you have software you could put two pieces in the hoop at the same time. Depending on how big the thing you want to border is, that's going to be sewing together quite a few 4" pieces of lace. If you want to go for it, now's the time. Find 8 other designs you want there, this week with the coupon code you get 9 designs for $9, don't pay $4 for just one. Best of luck, hugs, Marji

Do you have a link to the Maple leaves border at Embroidery Library so we can see what you are asking about?

I wonder what other cuties think, I think it would be difficult with your machine as I would use my continuous border hoop for this. Not tried laced border with that mind but done some borders as embroidery. will watch what others might say.
