I'm in need of ordering bobbins for my embroidery machines, and I forgot which ones I will need. I have a Brother Innovis 4000D and a brother 780D. I think I need something like a 15A or L bobbin but I am not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jan

Here is a visual chart with dimensions of L and A bobbins. My Babylock Ellageo used L size. The Ellegante uses A, like the Brother 270SE does. Though I can use the L with the small adaptor included with the machine, or put a dime under the bobbin to raise it up enough.

WorldWeidner.com has a 50 pack of the SA156 for $6.99 (and free shipping in the US at $20 in case you need other things like stabilizer). This size fits a TON of Brother machines including my 780D and Quattro.

I just placed an order for the SA156 bobbins off Amazon.com. If you look around, you can find a reasonable price there. I don't know where you live, but you might want to take a look. I got a box of 25 for just a couple of bucks. I have the Brother Innovis too.

This is interesting.
My bobbins don't have any numbers like that on them.
The packet just says Brother 11.5cm
(I have an innovis 900 & a 780D)

Like rescuer said. Both machines use SA156 which sold under 15A. The are slightly higher then the L-Type. Most companies list the machines they are compatible with and once you find one you know you have the right Bobbin for the other.
Good luck

According to the Brother site, you need SA156
I believe that is a class 15.

My brother is a pr1000 and it uses the L ones, I am sure all brother machines use the same because I have lent some of mine to my friend who has a brother Disney machine. I am sure another cutie will be along soon to offer more help

No my little Brother uses class 15A, so not all Brother Machines use the L type
