Have just spent $167.00 to have my machine repaired after using metalic threads. You should have seen the mess.

I use Metalic thread all the time do large designs mostly with King Star Never had this trouble either, if Thread on threadstand trails it can get caught and wind itself inside the machine..

I use metallic a lot and have never had this sort of trouble. Problem with the Designers is that the tension wheels can't be thoroughly cleaned without opening up the machines.
Glad your machine is in working order again.

Because I do not like metalic thread I do not use it very often. Thank you for the warning. Sarah.

Wow lucky you to have a service man who does house calls. Not known of here. Shirley

What kind of mess did it make? I don't use them very often, too expensive, but I need another reason to not use them...hugs, Marji

I am lucky my repair man does house calls so i can see each step of the machine service. When the caseing was removed it had a big birdsnest in the top tenision disks.

Did you learn enough by watching him to enable you to have a go yourself if anything similar happens? Jan
