If your machine never gives you a problem then you are on track. Don't worry.

I use Robison Anton in both rayon and poly most of the time but recently have been using Spectrum poly
also. A good place to buy Robison Anton is from www.Redrockthreads.com, they are very reliable and give quick service usually 3 to 4 day turnaround.

Hello minnie, as you know, rather un-sharing person you think I am, (LOL), I have bought some madiera. So far it has been fabulous. Just keep in mind that the thread chest is great, but really expensive here in Australia. Even if you get a great price in US over the internet the postage is over $200 which has put me off. Better to buy some $30 clear thread cases from spotlight and then get the spools individually and build up a collection over time if you don't have close to $1000 at one hit. If you are interested in madeira, next time I put in an order we can share postage and I will send them onto you. Let me know what you think.

I use Madeira because I bought a thread chest from nancy's notions-great deal, and I have NEVER had trouble with the thread shredding. I keep my eyes out for sales, and this way I am building up a good thread "bank".

I use Madeira rayon since thats what my dealer stocks but my machine gives me no problems with it so I don't feel the need to try anything else at the moment:)

I use mostly RA or Sulky - and by choice use the rayon because of the sheen. Some brands are wound differently and I do have to watch. I have found some shred more so than others, so usually stick to the two above. I have used marathon, and do have a set or two that were given to me that are "odd" brands, but they actually do stitch out nicely - I just have to watch my machine more closely with them. I bought some rayon RA from Shopper's rule last week, and they came with a disclaimer that the "thread must be wrapped or secured tightly in the spool when not in use. Rayon has a tendency to slip down the spool and become tangled and may become unusable".

I mainly use Marathon because it is easily available here and, so far, I have had good results. I also like the Robinson Anton twisted threads when you don't want an even colour e.g. teddy bears. *4U

I use different brands. I have noticed some threads come off the spool or cone differently. I use a thread holder that holds the thread up high and them it comes down to the machine. When you use this, you never have to fool with the mesh to go over the thread.

I use Madeira, Sulky, Marathon, and Floriani on my Brother Innovis. I have had good luck with all of them as long as I change the needle frequently. If you can, try them all to see what you like. Some threads have a higher sheen than others, like Floriani, and those add a little bit of sparkle to the designs. Good luck!

I use rayon from Madeira and have some Sulky as well. And polyesters from Marathon, bought those at an embroidery studio that uses it exclusively for their professional machines (with 6 heads and 15 needles a head). I bought some Brildor there as well. Must say they are all good. So I think it's a matter of availability.

I use Robinson_Anton as there is a dealer in the area, not a big selection here, but usually pick up Madeira when I am in the USA, most of my designs call for that brand...as lbrow says different machines like different threads so try a few different brands on your machine...have a good day ..

I prefer the poly threads, I like maderia & sulky, I also ordered. Radient from eBay & believe it or not have had excellent results with them.. when I had the bernina I had some problems with shredding, breaking, but with ellegante I've had no problems at all. My suggestion, try different brands see what you're machine likes.
